I thought it was going to be a mega gig with some decent bands but it's the usual dressing up and dancing shite. Loved the games but all this arty farty crap does my head in.

More of a pop concert than a closing ceremony

Was a good laugh I suppose, and The Who to finish was worth watching One Direction and Take That, only just though.

You would be second in the queue though clown

I watched the closing ceremony from start to finish, I thought it was a bit shaky at the start but once it got going it was ok I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The same musical culture that brought us Kate Bush also gave us Victoria Beckham. Go figure.

So that was the 'heritage' of British music was it, then Lord help us as a nation... a missed oppurtunity yet again.... where were the musical genius's, & the musical ground breakers? So we were all listening to pop in the 14 & 15th century then were we, 'musical heritage' my arse, another tired excuse, for a crap pop concert, where the so called elite, can't even mime in time, no wonder British music is not the force it once was Embarassed

It's never going to suit everyone but generally it's being written up throughout the world as a big success from start to finish, surprisingly. I totally agree.

Some of us won't like it but, well done us Brits!

Quite right. Even some Aussie papers are saying that it was better than the Sydney Olympics - so it must have been good.

Wonder how long the feelgood factor will last? For us miserable buggers on here, probably until Tuesday night at about 9.45!

I went to the FEMALE boxing (yeah I know, like, EH LOL); Nicola Adams' and the girl who was the Snatch extra from the peat bogs of Eire both won and won WELL. I was SUCH a CARD and impressed many in the CROWD with a moment of comical timing. You guys on HERE will be SOMEWHAT used to this, but when Amir Kahn and David Cameron were on the BIG screen I yelled out 'I hate you Cameron - Knock him out Amir', much to the MIRTH of those around me. Always playing the FOOL, me. Especially after paying £5.50 for a lager, I was determined to enjoy myself and keep within 'the Olympic spirit'. I even ate a Macdonalds PMSL. The fries were ADEQUATE.
