| I just look at Labour and Balls and can imagine nothing worse for Britain right now. I'm not a Conservative or anything but it's an easy choice if I had to pick between the two.
It's like dumb and dumber running Labour right now. |

| Not a word on the NHS or VAT, but we hear that remembering Agincourt is now getting a million thrown at it!? Much like the budget, Agincourt was nothing more than a largely irrelevant ego-trip for one man, and it a complete waste of arrows first, and a complete wastw of a million squid some 600 years later.
Ed Balls is no doubt incompetent, but Osborne strikes me as being downright sinister. |

| Did anyone watch the million pound chicken shop last night about KFC? I watched with special interest as I was an assistant manager at one of their stores aged about twenty, good laugh, long hours but I was earning more than any of my mates at the time. In one of their shops up the line they clear more than a million quid a year and they hand out "winner" medals because as the manager commented "it's really hard to motivate people earning £5 an hour so we give out these awards." I guess they employ young teenagers because they are cheaper than the minimum of the minimum wage but why is a shop making substantial profits like these allowed to pay such shite wages? You also wonder how much tax is paid by the parent company on that £1m.

| The one thing that irritates me about Ed Balls beyond belief is the sense that there are champagne corks being popped after every bit of bad economic news. He does seem very village.
LT is right though. This has the potential to be a new Omnishambles budget. Remember the pasty tax? |

| Some comment from the papers. "Instead George gave us an intricate connect-the-numbers exercise that was aimed to make austerity look less austere," writes the Times's Ann Treneman. However, Brian Reade complains in the Daily Mirror: "He was firing out statistics like a junkie high on calculus, painting a picture of a country most of us don't recognise. One where inequality doesn't exist, the rich make the biggest sacrifices and Northerners give him credit for stealing millions from their council budgets." |

Apparently the KFC drive-thru near Derriford roundabout is one of the highest gross-takings sites in the country. Doesn't surprise me actually. Fookin nightmare trying to get in to B&Q when the queue for KFC snakes back round past M&S towards Tavistock Rd! |

| All the stores are franchises, ours was Southern Fast Foods, KFC UK set the standards and quality control and sell the secret mix of breaking and sauces ect. Good model for standards and when I worked there was hospital clean, shame they don't use free range chicken. |

And they tell me slavery was illegal in Britain. Name tags replaced with badges saying "winner." |

Ed Balls is no doubt incompetent, but Osborne strikes me as being downright sinister. they'll spend £15m celebrating an iconic battle in english history only to do what they did with the celebrations of the battle of Trafalgar remove all mention of france so the french dont get offended. |

| Did anybody else see the Oxford economist on the telly last night who was saying that Britain is making a huge mistake letting all our core businesses being sold off. Thames water as an example is American owned now and paid out 1.4bn of its 1.6bn turnover in dividends last year, it has debts of £8bn. Days on was on as well and was saying that although he manufactures in Aisia he keeps all the design and high skill set jobs in Britain plus any profits come back to Britain (wonder if he pays tax?) but he also invests millions a year in universities and developing new ideas and products. He also says we are giving away too many start ups with all the real work and investment being done only for other countries to take the benefit for years to come. Too much is made of the individual who sells up for millions but they should be encouraged and supported to run the business here for the benefit of Britain. The general consensus was that our shortsighted nature when it comes to turning a fast buck is doing irreparable damage to the health and wealth of the nation and explains why we have become a low wage economy running all our core businesses for shareholders in other countries. Very interesting program. |
