The Countdown begins

Now we are finally promoted the time has come to begin the countdown to the impending bad news coming our way.

the new stand plans will be released no doubt very soon along with the announcement we are to up ticket prices and season ticket prices to over the top levels and carey announces he is too leave the club.

Two months I heard

It's a very good time to bury bad news. My guess is the first bad news will be it's only the hospitality/conference facilities that are getting developed as the money doesn't stretch to the grandstand/mayflower itself, except maybe replacing the wooden seats with plastic ones.

Silly me i forgot to mention.

as a result of the pitch invasion del bheys budget will be halved and he has to operate with a smaller squad in league 1.
all of nelson's and both liverpool games unbudgeted income will be used on everything bar football matters too i bet.

Four star daydream.

Sat in The Lyndhurst yesterday and spent some time gazing at the Grandstand. Haven't had a good look at it for a while as I've sat over there on most recent visits to Home Park.

It's going to take a lot to polish that turd. The horseshoe itself already looks tired enough but the Mayflower is a total mess. If seats don't get installed on the terrace it'll be a complete non-starter for improvement

Our success has been mentioned this morning on both radio five live and the today programme on radio four.
In the context that it was a great day for south coast clubs with Argyle, Portsmouth and Brighton all confirming promotion.

Sparksy has just said on radio Devon the shyster will be talking just after eight, will be carefully monitoring what he says!

Well Lord Jim said very little of note other than the board have already agreed the budget for next season and that they hope to keep Carey.
No mention of course of planning for another promotion.

So, as last year I suppose, all unbudgeted income into the back pocket again, and it's up to Adams to decide if he wants three players or Carey. Easypeasy, just blame the estate manager, nothing to do with me. Bet he can't believe his good fortune withe the huge unbudgeted profit this season. Lubbly jubbly
That million could put Argyle right up there with a chance of going straight up again, but what's the odds that it gets swallowed up in a flurry of professional fees surrounding the grandstand.

The conference / hospitality facilities bit of the 'refurbishment' is the major priority and that's where all the money will go. L1 or L2 again in 2018/19 makes no difference to brent. On a brent playing side budget Argo are looking at a season of struggle in 17/18 and more than likely a swift return to the basement.

Of course we can all enjoy yesterday's achievement, just making the point, that if we had a board and owner looking ambitiously at the longer term, then they would already be stating their intent, and planning for a return to the Championship.
Agree with others next season will be a rerun of this season. Brent will be low key until we are either sinking towards the bottom of league 1 or rising near the top, when in both scenarios he will be under pressure to discuss finances.

Current average gate is 9,475 according to website this morning. You'd probably expect that to rise another 150/200 if we are still in with a championship shout come last game.
If we middle ground next season which i think is likely I'd be surprised if we average 8,500 next season so you have to wonder what next seasons budget will be...... Doesn't bode well from where I'm sitting and on an aside all unbudgeted income has gone in the shysters sky rocket. Any thoughts that those monies will go on professional fees are wishful thinking.

The budget has already been set for the coming season according to the shyster this morning.

You just don't get it do you....administration takes a lot of getting over....even when you don't pay all the debts that it brings along......

Living within our means and building a good foundation to expand upon comes first.....pie in the sky ambitions got us into this mess to start with...or have you forgot already...

There our twenty one clubs in this division at present who would willingly swap with us for a place in Div 1 next season.....plus having our financial position at present....which is paying our way.
