Shez slags club over Hourihane

Here's what he said about the sale of Conor Hourihane in the 'erald today;

"We were always going to miss a player like Conor.The lad went for £200k and should have gone for £400-500k in my eyes".

Wonder who sanctioned the deal-Starnes maybe or that finance director [Turner?]? Either way it's a bit of a slap down for the people who agreed to sell the bloke in the first place and for apparently not taking notice of the professional opinion of a chap who has been involved at very high levels of football for over 30 years.Maybe food for thought for some who possibly aren't seeing the woods for the trees at the moment as far as the Argyle scene is concerned.

JS is right we got next to nothing from that deal for a good player as a result not to mention the sell ons and cva payments taken out of that £200,000 we got fecked like with joe mason.

Well I reckon my house is worth £300,000 but I've been offered only £175,000. 
This is what happens when you have no bargaining power. They, that's both the board and the manager, should not have allowed Hourihane's contract to run down to less than a year.
If Connor was so important to the cause then why didn't the manager insist on extending his contract.

Those that back Sheridan will no doubt come to his defence, while those that do not back Sheridan will counter that.

Lose a couple of games and fans turn on manager, manager turns on board, board retaliate by criticising manager, fans jump to the defence of manager and attack board, local rag stand shoulder to shoulder with club owner, fans stop buying local rag, president endorses reign of King James the magnificent in his local rag column, (most)fans slaughter president online, online forums slaughter each other, we win a game or two and everything's rosy, we lose a game or two and the whole sorry saga starts all over again.......................welcome aboard the goodleaky ship Mayflower !!

To be fair, and i like to be fair, Sheridan makes a lot of sense here, he realises he can't play any combination of just two midfielders from those he has, hence three in the middle of the park, he seems to back Banton and is pretty determind to get him (Banton) firing on all six again....

Do you suggest a Fletcher type scenario perhaps, but involving a fan hero as a cheaper alternative ?.

If Sheridan was to leave Argyle then I would not want that, but I would want a manager who could get the team playing, and playing well.

Sheridan still has that chance though [as his remaining backers will point out], but he must be treading on egg shells right now regarding his future at Argyle. If come the end of the Cheltenham Town match Argyle are still in a mid-low L2 table position, he will have to be spoken to and probably be removed.

If he has had enough here already, then he should do the proper thing and resign, stating differences as the reason. Those differences are probably a mix of both personal and employment.

my biggest gripe with Sheridan is when his plan of action works we play well we win and all is good in the hood however if plan A doesnt work he has no plan b or c even if the other team has sussed us out or winning and we struggle when we shouldn't be.

IMO that is partly down to not having strength and depth in the squad beyond a strong 11 which i think its more down to finances if anything. Playing players out of position is not impressing me either as the only guy who has found his feet in a new position is Tyler Harvey.

I get the feeling Sheridan is frustrated with the board he wants to get promotion and doesnt feel the club are doing enough to help him and the squad achieve it and with us having a stop/start season so far i think he is seeing the writing on the wall and plans to go or get pushed.

Xthrobber and the regular farm lickers were all saying selling Hourihane for two hundred grant was a great deal. I beg to disagree which i did at the time, it was a shit deal by a no ambition clueless regime, jose murihinio could not get this club promoted under the dead hand of Brent! Sherridan aint great but who else could polish this green Turd?
