| I have read about it Rickler, JB was I think put in charge of buying farmland when he was with Citibank, they were talking about thousands of hectares as an investment, JB has also got an arm of Akkeron doing the same thing, they hold about 1500 hectares of land if my memory is right (which isn't always). A neighbouring landowner where I live is also a failed banker who was sacked by RBS, he already owns a manor house and in the last two years has bought numerous farms along the Tamar Valley to add to his pile, getting all his money out of the banks and into land, we are seeing estates put together, by all the people who have stripped the country to its bones, on a scale not seen since the industrial revolution. If only we had a Labout government in power I am sure they would sort it out. Pmsl. The subsidy to be paid for farmland in 2013 is £49 bn, good work if you can get it. |

| Thanks Iggy and TGWU, This page says that Brent was "head of real estate and lodging at Citibank" which I suppose would include farming as it is 'real estate' although I suspect 'farming' wasn't in any way the focus? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]So where abroad are these "farms"? Or is it land bought waiting for 'developement'? ...and talking of development, if it does go ahead at HP, I hope it proceeds faster than the Akkerongroup website which has been at the same stage of arrested development since JB talk over at Argyle. |

| A little e-mail I sent Mrs Seabeck after reading a thread by Mike Greening Dear Alison I am very disappointed with your view on the development in Higher Home Park, I have read your view on a bully web site, which is asking for constituent to write to you so you can put your pro view in to the mix. Quote Mike Greening I emailed all our local MPs and have had replies from all of them. The last one I emailed was Alison Seabeck She is personally supportive of the proposal but because of strict parliamentary rules can only write on behalf of her own constituents. She has asked if we know of anyone living in her constituency who would be willing to write to her on this matter. Quote [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] As you only been in Plymouth for a few years you will not know the deep feeling with have for Central Park. Not only have we have outsiders as our Mps who now knows best in how to spoil our park. I am a 65-year-old season ticket holder of Argyle and would like the best for them, but this development will only benefit Mr Brent. I was a strong labour and trade unionist supporter but with the like of outsides putting money before the people of Plymouth it will be a long time before I think of voting for Labour again. As you know the east of the city badly needs development and what better place to put most of what Mr Brent HHP plans that should be built in the City Centre. I will E-mail a copy of this to The Friends Of Central Park and to The web site [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] with any reply I receive from your office. |

| Reply from Ms Seabeck MP
Indeed. If a constituent wrote opposing I would also make sure their views were fully considered. However my personal view is that this is a good scheme. I regret that with planning decisions it is impossible to please all sides of the debate. sitting on the fence is not the best option either. I have no direct say in the planning process because it is independent and a council decision. Sorry we have to disagree. If you are my constituent and you want me to ensure your opposition is included in the consideration then do let me know. You are of course able to do this direct and all the information will be available from the Council. Alison Seabeck MP Sent from my iPad |

| Interesting Plymouth Tree Partnerships follow up letter asking for the planning decision to be postponed until tree loss and drainage issues are resolved in line with EA request on page 9 amongst the support letters generated by PAFC email shot.
PCC Letters
Notice someone upholds their objection and complains that PAFC are blackmailing their supporters. |

Maybe more people in favour of the build have contacted her than those who are against it. What then? That is the beauty of democracy - vote for someone else at the next election. |

That is the beauty of democracy - vote for someone else at the next election. If she goes with one side or the other then she will get shot down and probably accused of trying to curry favour with her constituents. If she goes with her own views she will be accused of being unresponsive to her electorate. As you say, the next election would be the time she would discover if she was right. I personally can't see a lot in favour of the proposals. And I certainly can't see anything in them to back up any claim that would bring employment (other than short-term building). Neither do I see any justification for what they would do to Central Park that couldn't be eased by putting some of it elsewhere in the city - like dentist, studio school & cinema. But then we are re-hashing arguments about the proposals....... |
