PostSubject: Do not forget   Do not forget EmptySun Jun 09, 2013 6:23 pm

Meeting is at Cherry Tree on Tuesday 11th June.

Quote from TFOCP

WOW! Some of this is actually funny!!
Paragraph 7, where is it if it's not in Central Park?
Paragraph 11 that seem like an admission that it's on green space?
Paragraph 8, I and another were there at the meeting. There was a presentation and a long debate re roads and hotel, but they aren't going to change anything as they are not interested in changing anything.
Paragraph 14, really £1.1M?? Let's break it down and see what it really adds up to!
Paragraph 4, predominantly: exactly! That's the problem, it's like building some of my extension on my neighbours plot!!

Is this an open meeting that anyone can attend?

I don't agree with the FOCP on everything or even their stance on this but it's something I'd quite like to attend as a matter of interest really. Nothing better to do aside from anything else!

It for Friends of Central Park if you have a interest in saving the park you could come.

Perhaps, it just seemed like an unnecessarily strong reply. If he said that it was only for people who fully agreed with that particular cause then I wouldn't have objected but I was just a bit surprised about being called a plant for anyone, let alone the website on which I've made more constructive points against this current development than more or less anyone else on there. Apologies to Tgwu if I bit too easily to something meant light-heartedly but I can assure you I'm as unhappy with this development as the next man. I just happen to not entirely agree with the particular FOCP stance/angle that they are taking but nonetheless would be very interested in hearing what they have to say in the spirit of open debate.

Oh good - that's at least two people who'll report back in full. I'm hoping to go (dressed as myself), but I've got to take my mum to an appointment at Derriford later so don't know if I'll make it in time.

What a waste of fuckin time!

First of all it was disrupted by a gang of hooligans who aggressively shouted everyone down (led by ..... guess who). The landlord was called to eject them as they refused to move otherwise. Unsurprising boorish behaviour.

The meeting then became a forum whereby the assembled masses were asked if they had actually read the proposals and how many people in the room had actually written their letters to the council. It was like being back at school. We had also exchanged one set of boorish behaviour for another. Members of the committee (the men - why is it always men - why don't they just flop their dicks out and say "Beat that one"?) proceeded to go against all their earlier requests to 'put up your hand otherwise the meeting won't work'. It was them who talked at length, refusing to give way, interrupting and demanding that we allow them to finish.

I left. I'm still pissed off. I have a large, strong rum & coke in front of me. I may feel better after that. I may not.

On the other hand I renewed acquaintance with certain fragrant members of ATD plus TGWU & McFry.
