The dimwits have been told to get onto the farm. Poor old Womble.

The mind numbingly village lack of vision is too much.

This will be 'the end' for many Argyle people and the Windsor Boys will have the club that their selfish, personal ambition deserves.

It is interesting that Peter Jones complained that he and the "Londonistas" were driven out of the club by the local people that distrusted anyone "up the line" and now he sits silent on a board feathering its nest and using the same argument to trample any disatisfaction.

Brent I get. He's not a fan, he's a property developer. All he's doing is what he's always done.

Jones is a turncoat and his behaviour has been nothing but despicable.

I bumped into Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall yesterday (genuinely) at Waterloo Station. Embarrassingly I was just about to call him Iddesleigh Green and have a pop Embarassed

Brent isn't even a property developer. He's a banker that has spotted an opportunity to make money elsewhere.

It's very obvious Womble. An orchestrated, attack by the dimwits.

My god, the sell outs are pure self promoting scum.

So he's "banking" on Argyle reaching the Premier and pocketing £60m and that £60m will build a new stadium. Let's hope that the Premier is still chucking dosh around in the next century then.

Prepare for war!

According to Damon, the BPE corner is where the school will be, which will receive multi £m grants. Esmer says the WG's proposal to increase capacity would cost an additional £800k. I really find it hard to believe the current plans are final, they just can't be, but then again...

So the big news today is that Brent is going to steal a bit more of HP to build a feckin school on? You couldn't make it up! In the future we could have put seats there (and fu ck you Newell your views don't count any more, you are one of them) or Brent as he says himself could have made some more seating there as it only costs £1000 a seat and you get your money back in two years, it's a no brainier then JB?
Yet again Brent has tried to outmanoeuvre the AFT, classic sales technique, draw out the objections to a sale then deal with them one by one, so sad he is helped by people that were previously fans of the club.

He shoots he scores another own goal from Webb in pr terms. All today has been is a orchestrated pr stunt to try and gain support for the new stand. Sorry Brent / Webb it ain't working here.

The more times that Webb does these we have a massive announcement tomorrow crap the more it makes him look the fool .

I've been following our club for over 50 years (about 54 if you must know Rolling Eyes ) and I've never felt so low and so angry about it.

Anyone with the ability to see the bigger picture, will be feeling the same. This really could be the end of any realistic chance of England's last sleeping giant awakening.

Pi$$ed on by the club again. Brent showing no regard for fans and Webb telling the world that we're all delighted. What happened to democracy.

Without a doubt there's been a large amount of preparation given to this moment in time that falls just after the last match of the season. I think it will be another own goal though.

pasoti is buzzing with predictable support from fictitious characters, twitter is twatting and I expect the Heralds comments column with will be stacked with comments that will be pro the Brent grandstand and Newell's gone on the personal verbal attack.

Ride the storm and then we'll bite their fekin arses off!

The corners being taken from us is the big news here, do you know of another ground wher this has been done?
No wonder that Newell was told that he didn't like wrap around bowls.

Excellent post by ejh on the farm.............

Jake, we have historically managed a 25% - 33% INCREASE on attendances on returning to any given level.

For example, we were averaging less than 5,000 in the 4th tier under Hodges - we are now averaging over 7,000 playing worse football, in constant relegation scraps, and taking thousands and thousands away in a manner we never used to.

When we return to League 1, our attendance will be pushing 12/13,000. At Championship level, capacity permitting, it will push 20,000 average. We need additional space for what the big games will bring as well really, so 25,000 is about what this club needs for our short-medium term goals.

However you look at what Brent is delivering - League Two/League One in terms of capacity, design, uniqueness - just pure bland.

His Akkeron team intend to seize all the car park land for their business ventures, including all the retail units, developing their own hotel, and even seizing the Home Park corner space now. And what does it leave? Just some shite League Two stand for the club. Not even the corners to dream of finishing in the future, even that has been robbed.

Looking at the possibility of expansion, the absolute mayhem cluster of buildings that will be the car park means and expansion of the Mayflower is a write off. With the restrictions of space, we will only ever be able to demolish and rebuild with the consent and permission of about 15 tenants (ha!) and will have to knock the whole collection of developments down to create more space. Is this going to happen - not in a billion years! Then you have Brent's access road - tight as a piece of guttering to the Lyndhurst. No credible expansion potential there. Which means if we do get to the Prem and have all the money in the world to do whatever we want, and need 25,000+, the only option is a monstrosity of a Devonport development resembling the Stretford End to build the adequate expansion.

I understand the wish to get this done at no cost to the club, but this stand robs us of all our hopes and dreams, and will prevent the club from fulfilling its potential. And for what - for marginally better banqueting and corporate hospitality, based on the Exeter Chiefs model that returns £100k a year? Or Brent's fag packet maths of £1m - £2m 'with potential attendance increases and selling naming rights' - casually flung figures which would get him annihilated in Dragons Den? As casual as his 8,000 projected attendance figure this season, and having to dispose of the club captain in January?

I can understand why Brent wants this - his company stands to lap it all up - not just the development contracts, but the land, the leaseholds, the long term tenancies, and he gets a prime site for a new hotel. But why are individuals supporting this? Chris Webb, why are you totally selling out for this? A handful of fans in marginally privileged, possibly elected positions, refusing to come out and say what needs to be said - that this stand has shortchanged the club massively and WE NEED BETTER. Without naming names and getting banned, you know who you are - you should all hang your heads in shame.

Newell, as associate director has already said that he never expects PAFC to reach the Premier.
