Yeah - like they'd fit you!

In other news, as of yesterday walking is no longer excruciatingly painful. However, thanks to the blisters I've rediscovered the pleasure of getting one's feet into a receptacle of (fairly) hot water with a generous sprinkling of special foot stuff (from Boots of course) while watching telly. I can confidently predict that this is likely to become a regular, but not frequent, occurrence.
Often do it, very relaxing.

Surfed, had lunch, drying wetsuit then more surf, everybody in the water was alive today which was nice.

Not a thing, although a surfer I talked to the day after hadn't heard anything and he lived there, he did say another one drowned last week and on the whole they were tourists from the mainland who got drunk then went for a swim. The fire at Penacova was all over the news but they do love a good fire down here.
What part are you in?

Up north from where you are, 80km inland from Figueira Da Foz. Handy for Serra Da Estrellas mountains and Coimbra but very rural and peaceful.

It is way past midnight and I am nonplussed; the cat that arrived at our house in a box 4 years ago thinks my tummy is a good place to sink his claws in. Yes, before anyone asks, his name is Schodinger.

Did you know he was in there when the box arrived?

I could hear him so I knew he wasn't dead but, I didn't know where in the box he was. He jumped out as soon as I opened it, so I am certain he was in the box but uncertain as to where, however there was no radiation or poison in the box. Perhaps I should have called him Heisenberg.

Blimey. Two small people doing some colouring, tracing and cutting out don't half make a mess on your carpet. Just as well I didn't bother to vacuum yesterday.

In other news, I had a nice email today.

Small people have an infinite capacity to make mess. Are you able to persuade them to clear up afterwards?

That can be dangerous, Pete. The five year old in particular has her own tidying up method: basically, the stuff gets moved from a place where it can be seen to a place where it can't. Sometimes it's months before I find things. Still, I try.

Lawnmower: walls have ears, you know, but here's a taster:

Quote :
Energy prices are continuing to rise in the UK, pushing up people's expenses and tipping many into fuel poverty. As such many properties are left cold in the winter, or homeowners are left paying a fortune to keep warm. This doesn't have to be the case though and by replacing your boiler you could save up to £300 a year on bills, according to the Energy Saving Trust.

I too had the pleasure of two little people's company today. My house was like a war zone in devestation within 15 minutes. Bricks on the floor, lego strewn, soft toys everywhere. I played somewhere around 500 different games in the next 5 hours, well it seemed like 500 anyway. Park visited and duty Troll made them screech loud enough to shatter every window within a mile. 400 laps completed around the rockery in garden being chased by screaming imps and being told I have no hair.

I had my tea and fell asleep for an hour. It had to be done.

How do a couple of janners (I'm largely assuming there Very Happy ) end up living what sounds like a pretty idylic life in rural Portugal?

I only ask 'cos if there's an afterlife, I'm going to apply for something similar...

Not quite so much mess today, but two crayons have disappeared. Worryingly.

Spoke too soon. Mass devastation broke out while I was on here.

I wouldn't suggest Demport Park as a destination today. It could get messy.

Finally got rid of grand children today, they off to France for ten days, might walk around Devonport Park this afternoon and stop in the cafe, I have some books to hand in.

Possibly just as well, T&G - I took the small people to the park to let off some steam, and they certainly did. I swear the five year old's going to be an astronaut. Or maybe a bulldozer.

Still. Massive collage of a flower garden was eventually completed, and I got to have my nap. Still haven't found the missing crayons, and as for the carpet ... at least two vacuum thingies full, I'd estimate.
