Speaking from a business point of view, it's a good opportunity to get rid of some poorly performing staff.

As an aside, how many people work in the media/comms department?

Oh there's the spin. There's the narrative that will be espoused to quell the masses. Poorly performing staff? It's illegal to use redundancy to get rid of poorly performing staff. A job is redundant not a person. Hooper grasp of situations and humanity is truly lacking. Opportunist twonk.

Whilst not wishing to defend Mr Hooper in any way shape or form, we ought to point out that his part of that quote was just the '2' for how many people work in the media department.

The opinions on removing so called 'poorly performing staff' were those of Pafcintheplace. No point in giving people any more ammunition with which to attack.

So this is because the attendances are below those predicted? What was the prediction? The average attendance so far is 6320 (3rd in League 2). How can this be substantially worse than that sensibly budgeted for?

I've heard from reliable sources that the budgeted attendance is circa 8,000.

Ridiculous of course but it may explain the need for "redundancies".

These rumours don't come out of thin air.

There is no need to wait for confirmation in order to display disappoint and disgust at this news. One cup win or a couple less players, a better team and maybe these redundancies aren't needed.

It's now published in the media.

Whatever we think of the PASB, is it any surprise that Brent drops this just before they are up and running? As much as Mr Hooper can say that the PASB ought to ask questions about this (and good for him for saying this so quickly) it's shutting the door after the horse etc .....

Well, I wonder who will be replacing these poorly performing staff ?
I could hazzard a guess or two...

Jamesey Spoofman to head media bullshit
The Tent Volunteers to take over the commercial department
Temorary general management team .... don't even think it.

And as for a budgeted 8,000 per game Very Happy ...Jeez.. that's as dumb as Stapleton, Gardner and Todd over the years.... doesn't Brent read ATD ? ... we have our heads screwed on and live in the REAL world. I'm beginning to see why Citigroup racked up a bail out of $50 billion dollars.
Did anyone tell Clueless to keep his squad to manageable numbers. Fewer players, better quality.

Then I hope that one of them is who ever came up with 8000. Last season we averaged 6900.

I must say I agree. I've been pleasantly surprised as to how attendances have held up this year. I daresay they were bolstered by JB's rallying call about a competitive budget.

If staff have been made redundant because the loss is greater than expected then why authorise more player spending. 6000 to watch moving dog shit should be on Britain's (not) Got Talent.

By the way nice to see the thousands spent on the PASB election being funded ahead of staff jobs. I notice they have a getting to know you meeting scheduled for this week. I can save them some time......this is Tony Cholwell and this is Lee Jameson....collectively known as a pack of c....

The first thing that PASB should do is vote for its own extinction to cut costs.

The GasBoard is redundant in this. I don't want to hear about it via the GasBoard. The main board will do as it will when it wants to as it see fits. It would just a sup to fans to think they have the inside track via the GasBoard. It was always a bad idea and this situation proves it.

I see Hooperman wants the PASB to ask the Board what's going down
Should be about as effective as a Q and A session with Toddy on the Farm.

Did they tell you that?

Why can't Newell comment til the Club make an official statement? He keeps telling anyone who'll listen that he's just an ordinary fan.

And Webb never waited for official statements when he was Chair of the Trust during Administration. What's changed? Oh...

Brent has overestimated the club feeling amongst supporters if he believes that 8000 were going to turn up this season. After a summer where we got beaten by every team we played other than Tiverton town and that was close, we failed to sign anyone of note and kept the under performers. If the club had just a little ambition I would be glad to go back to being a season ticket holder again, after all this it makes me more distanced from the club. No doubt someone will tell me I am the problem, but I can't support Brent and his vision of what Argyle should be, I just don't believe he cares.
