Illogan Handjob lol I'd love to know who started that Cornish rumour. Well over a year ago someone who no longer posts here after a run in with Newell did a search on old Nooly and he was born in Freedom Fields at Greenbank. Am not joking.

He did. Until recently there was a link on the farm to the old argyle.org.uk forum with a few pages of posts from around 96-97 and plenty of Paul Hunter v Ian Newell banter.

I'm not too bothered about Holloway- he spent quite a bit the last time he was here (although we were in the Championship) on wages etc, and he doesn't have a great recent record.
Of the unemployed managers, I'd prefer Paul Hurst (did a great job at Shrewsbury on limited resources) or Darrell Clarke (got Rovers promoted twice). Steve Cotterill has a good record in leagues 1 and 2 (dogsh*t in the Championship) also.
Mike Flynn and Sol Campbell have done well on limited resources in League 2, Gary Johnson may want another stab at league football so could be a possibility (plus as mentioned by others, he has very strong links to Bristol City).

If Hollowords returns I'm retiring as an Argyle fan,
once bitten twice shy,
The janners can't be that stupid to be duped by that snake oil salesman again.
I couldn't give a flying feck if he claims to be sorry,
He didn't finish the job last time, he went and took the money and he expects us to let him come crawling back,
The club is already joke, We don't need another clown coming in, we got one with a 30% share in the board room.
The guys a grade a cnut,
There was a lot more to it than that. Holloway was desperate to stay and take us up to the Premier League. He really believed he could do it and had identified 2 or 3 players to bring in who would have cemented our place in the top 6 and possibly got us into the top 2. They weren't cheap though and after many discussions Stapleton told him he would have access the funds necessary.
Problem was Stapleton lied. It soon became clear that there was no intention of funds becoming available and Holloway felt there was no future, no ambition at the club - which, of course we now know to be correct.
Had the club shown the ambition Holloway wouldn't have taken the Leicester job. He loved it down here and was gutted to leave, but the relationship with the Chairman and the board had broken down to such an extent that he couldn't possibly stay.
As for him coming back - I've never been a great fan of second chances in football and am not sure whether he has the same passion as before. Having said that he's probably a better option than most on the list.

I'm absolutely delighted with what I've been told this afternoon about Holloway and whilst the final decision cannot be made solely by the "contributors" to todays meeting, he wants the job. It will be down to one individual whether he comes or not and that person jets in shortly as he actually mentioned last week to watch the final match
His odds slashed from 7/2 down to 5/6 over the course of an hour
If the fans listen to his warnings when he left we might have been spared admin and the reluctant one with his 8 years of crap.
I personally dont think he will be back he likes the glitz and glam of premiership and championship football and the media spotlight that brings too much to want to step back into leagues 1 or 2 with us.
Gary Johnson preferred to talk about Plainmoor matters than comment on speculation that he might be a candidate for the newly-vacant job at Westcountry neighbours Plymouth Argyle.
Johnson refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with the Home Park vacancy with some bookmakers making him a leading candidate for the role.
But a similar situation arose in March, when Yeovil dismissed Darren Way, and Johnson said then: "I am on a new project here, and when you get great support from everyone at a club - players, supporters and top management - that's where you want to be."
Since clinching promotion back to the National League, he has repeatedly referred to the longer-term aim of returning Torquay to the Football League.

I do hope you've got some new sources because let's be honest, your track record of insider information doesn't exactly inspire great confidence in this latest tit bit
