| The Herald have put these names forward.pure speculation so (Some names are there just as a joke) we need a laugh and the names that always get linked or were linked in the past
The candidates Already names are being bandied about as to who could be Derek Adams’ successor.
GARY JOHNSON has done a fabulous job at Torquay United, winning the sixth promotion of his career with the Gulls, and he has good knowledge and pedigree of the English lower leagues.
STEVE EVANS is bound to be linked and has been out of work since leaving Peterborough United, but could he be tempted to locate to Plymouth? Evans had great success at Crawley and Rotherham, but his stock has been on the wane after less successful spells with Leeds, Mansfield and then Peterborough
IAN HOLLOWAY has publicly declared he feels he has unfinished business at Argyle, but could the Green Army forgive him after his controversial departure to Leicester City? Football fans don’t always forget, but the reason the Green Army were so hurt was because they loved him so much. Could a return be on the cards?
KEITH HILL is a former Argyle defender and often speaks fondly about the club. Worked wonders on a tight budget at Rochdale, although things didn’t go so well for him this season and he left Spotland in March. He is currently out of work, but had a good record with Dale.
DARRELL CLARKE is the man that took Bristol Rovers back into the Football League and then up into League One after being at the helm when they dropped into the non-League scene. Left Rovers this season after winning 104 of his 246 games at the helm, losing just 86.
GRAHAM COUGHLAN was the man that replaced Clarke and he needs no introduction to the Green Army. A fierce competitor and fans’ favourite as a player, Coughlan loves Argyle and Argyle love him. A return seems inevitable, so could he be persuaded to join in the summer? A good chance.
KEVIN NANCEKIVELL is the man tasked with steadying the ship and keeping Argyle in League One and can give himself every chance with a win against Scunthorpe this weekend. Hard to see it happening, due to his inexperience, but never say never in football. |

| Gary Johnson had a string of failures that led to Torquay in Tier 6 being the only job he could get.
BUT....
IF you could guarantee his son would be staying at Bristol City and therefore guarantee a conveyor belt of young talent heading our way, it’d seriously almost be worth giving the old man a years contract purely for the loan potential. |

| Got a feeling it'll be either Holloway or Coughlan if we can poach him. |

| Keith Curle, Martin Ling, Christ Hargreaves, Kevin Nicholson....I'll be surprised if we lure a league 2 manager away from his job. |

Sturrock is about eighty and in really poor health, and he was shite the last time. Unless you have a hankering for Blair to dust off his boots again it's got to be a no. |

| I think Holloway would be an excellent appointment except that he's a bit Brexit with the fan base. |

| Holloway would be my choice, no sour grapes from me he'd have been radio rental not to take the Leicester job. Failing that I quite like the cut of Keith Hills jib. |

| feck Holloway. What has he done recently? He's old school and living in the past. Somebody fresh for me. If by some miracle we stay up then starting a fresh in league one is far more attractive than starting in league two so hopefully the standard of applications would be higher |

| Keith Hill would basically be saying that the club has no ambition and is planning for a future of continuing austerity |

- Why?
Because Keith Hill is used to working with a crap budget and not moaning about it. Oh and he's just been sacked by Rochdale and I for one would be disappointed if that's the sum of Simon Halletts ambition and vision. This going back for old players and managers is short sighted IMO. There's a whole world out there to choose from. |
