Maybe it's an initial 'dipping of the toe', a chance to find out more from within before taking over IDC. Regime change doesn't have to be swift, it could be a longer term strategy. It does indeed read like he's staying in the States, but maybe this is where his "associate" comes in. An odd title that to me, they're clearly connected but it's not been explained how. |

Maybe, just maybe....and if it is, the circus surrounding him would no doubt end up outside the Director's Box too. Having never met Mr Newell, I don't hold any level of hatred for the bloke but his fall from grace would be an early Christmas for most here! |

| I see SimonH has posted on a thread over the road there. He says he is not an asset stripper and only wants the best for Argyle. Hello everyone,
Thanks to all for the mostly positive comments, and words of welcome. I'm afraid I won't be a frequent contributor to the forums, but did want to clear up a few points that you've asked about. 1. Re new shares: if the Club had 1,200,000 shares in issue and 500,000 new shares are issued to me, I then own 500,000 out of the new total of 1,700,000. That's about 29%.
2. I prefer not to say at this stage how the injected money will be used. That will be a matter for the Board and CEO, and I don't know, at the moment. The amount is well into six figures.
3. In addition to the money injected into the Club, I've taken over some of the existing debts. You don't need to worry about the injected money only being used to pay off existing creditors.
4. I did not get involved earlier because financial involvement would also have demanded extensive time involvement, which I wasn't prepared to give--I have one full time job already. There is now an excellent team in place for day to day management.
5. Some other sites have described me as an American. I've lived in the US since 1991, and am a citizen, but I also remain a citizen of the UK.
6. There is no hidden agenda here. I've been a fan since 1966 and wanted to be involved. I'm no asset stripper. I simply want, like you, that Argyle be a Club of which all in the Westcountry are proud. This doesn't represent a significant change in direction. You should take the press release on the PAFC.co.uk website as completely accurate.
Forgive me if I don't respond to any further questions. I will be in Devon in May, and we'll set something up whereby I can meet other supporters and answer any questions.I'll be listening to the game tomorrow.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Yes. And Queen Victoria has died. |

So, he'll be Hallett's George Synan then. |

Brent will undoubtedly pass on the information that it is quite handy having a Useful Idiot to control the fanbases biggest Forum. |

(Brother-in-laws?) Oh right, hadn't seen that. Cheers. I saw that he was Devon based so presumably will be Kagami San's SH's eyes and ears on the ground. Sensible strategy. My suggestion could still stand then. In the fullness of time, having viewed the situation from the inside, a 'takeover from within' could be an option. If he doesn't have the money himself he will know plenty of folk who do, you don't get to be in that line of work for 25 years without picking up a very impressive contact list. Time will tell but he's got a foot in the door for now. Good luck to the fella |

| Fancy announcing something like this the day before a vital game. It must really unsettle the players. |

I was being facetious, referring back to those times when the club and it's representatives on earth (or pasoti at least) have ripped into various AFT figures for doing interviews with the Herald which the Herald chose to publish on a Saturday, or before a midweek game. Not so important a consideration when it's news of Brent trousering a few quid for the Buy The Freehold Using Other People's Money fund. |
