| To be fair to Simon Hallett, he has just posted directly on the relevant thread on Pasoti to answer some of the questions people are posing.
If my reading is right, he/they have taken up a 29% holding in the club. He also says that the cash injection is over and above debts he has taken on. Certainly sounds a genuine fan not out of the Todd mould.
Kudos in my book for going on there and articulating his position. Time will tell, of course, if his involvement makes any genuine difference |

Predicting an inevitable defeat to Portsmouth. Come on, do you really think this money is going into the team... |

| Simon Hallet said on pbay,
Hello everyone,
Thanks to all for the mostly positive comments, and words of welcome. I'm afraid I won't be a frequent contributor to the forums, but did want to clear up a few points that you've asked about. 1. Re new shares: if the Club had 1,200,000 shares in issue and 500,000 new shares are issued to me, I then own 500,000 out of the new total of 1,700,000. That's about 29%.
2. I prefer not to say at this stage how the injected money will be used. That will be a matter for the Board and CEO, and I don't know, at the moment. The amount is well into six figures.
3. In addition to the money injected into the Club, I've taken over some of the existing debts. You don't need to worry about the injected money only being used to pay off existing creditors.
4. I did not get involved earlier because financial involvement would also have demanded extensive time involvement, which I wasn't prepared to give--I have one full time job already. There is now an excellent team in place for day to day management.
5. Some other sites have described me as an American. I've lived in the US since 1991, and am a citizen, but I also remain a citizen of the UK.
6. There is no hidden agenda here. I've been a fan since 1966 and wanted to be involved. I'm no asset stripper. I simply want, like you, that Argyle be a Club of which all in the Westcountry are proud. This doesn't represent a significant change in direction. You should take the press release on the PAFC.co.uk website as completely accurate.
Forgive me if I don't respond to any further questions. I will be in Devon in May, and we'll set something up whereby I can meet other supporters and answer any questions.I'll be listening to the game tomorrow.

just another bum to lick He's already started. Embarrassing. And yes, I reckon this is all to do with buying more real estate. And far too much chirp from the new interns about community trusts and PAFC academy. Education is the new gold rush about to happen in this country under this government. I smell a plan B with even more schooling in mind. Maybe Jimmy thinks Central Park would make a great campus. Makes you wonder just how many life long Argyle fanatics like Todd are out there in the big wide world. Of course, in my experience Plymouth College was always a Rugby union and cricket school. They didn't even play football, but there you go. |

That would make sense. Without the ground purchase there's nothing of value worth buying. So these guys are either:
- entirely philanthropic
- are bunging money into the club which can only spend so much on the team because of the 55% rule
- are eager to pay off debts others have run up
- have their eye on a lucrative property deal somewhere down the line

I noticed that he's said they would pay off some existing debts, planning and architects fees? They must have a carrot they are chasing, you don't invest in a business for the sake of it, HHP plan B or is it C imminent? |

| Newell is chuffed because this guy has used Pasoti as his communication tool. That makes Newell feel like a big cheese.
In the real world the likes of Simon Hallet and Newell don't mix unless master needs something.
Dual Citizenship on one hand and dual brain cell on the other.

| With the large percentage of the shares and debt that he's taken on, this looks like it could be the beginning of a takeover with the club valued at about three times however much money he's put in-i.e f he's put in half a million, the club's worth £1.5 million |

| Six figures eh? And yes the money will be used for anything but supporting the manager, whoever that will be, in next season's already doomed 4th division campaign. BRENT OUT |

| Of course, one thing we are seeing is no matter who and when someone takes over from Brent, you can guarantee that Newell will be jumping up and down, elbowing and spoiling to be head serf to the new squire, no matter what the investor's intentions are.
