There's bound to be politics (and personalities) at play here. GD's face doesn't fit with the new regime. Seems crazy. |

| There are rumours that the new owners are backed by a money man with Exeter connections and that Albion will become a feeder team for the Chiefs. |

| I can't see how being a feeder club for the Chiefs is "Good News For Albion" - and is it even permissible in rugby to do this?
And it is a real kick in the teeth for the city as a whole if true. |

And it is a real kick in the teeth for the city as a whole if true. It's just speculation, probably the presence of a couple of Chiefs Academy coaches at Brickfields today has lead someone to put two and two together and got 9. More likely is these guys are being lined up to take over first team duties. Shocking decision to sack Dawe though. He's been the glue that's held that club together in recent years. And a club at Albions level doesn't get a man of his calibre on their doorstep every day. This is a decision which may well come back and bite the new owners on the arse pretty sharpish. The squad - which has done phenominally well this season - is incredibly loyal to him. Another year of rebuilding and turmoil beckons, I reckon. |

| Albion turn to Exeter Chiefs for new head coach with Rob Gibson who is expected to take charge of Plymouth Albion for their final two games of the season
New owners Bruce Priday and David Venables sacked director of rugby Graham Dawe on Sunday, leaving the Albion squad without a recognised head coach for their final National One games of the season.
Albion play second-placed Hartpury College at home on Saturday and are away at Richmond the following weekend.
Speculation has been mounting that a former Plymouth Albion head coach from the 1980s, Nigel Sparrow, might be asked to take over from Dawe until a new man could be appointed.
But it has now been confirmed that one of Chiefs' academy coaches, Rob Gibson, and assistant Sam Walton, will take charge of the Albion squad up the end of the season.
Whether that arrangement will last beyond the end of this season is not clear.
It is also unclear how the move will affect Albion's playing squad.
But a Chiefs spokesman confirmed that Exeter coaches would be taking the team this weekend.
He said: "Albion's new owners have spoken to our chief executive and chairman Tony Rowe and they have asked if we are able to provide coaches until the end of the season.
"We are able to help them through to the end of the season by providing Rob Gibson, one of our academy coaches, and Sam Walton, his assistant."
Rowe himself said Chiefs were approached by the new owners and decided to help.
He said: "Our primary objective is to make sure that Albion are in a good position.
"For the last 20 years, we have worked really hard with Albion and Cornish Pirates to try and take Westcountry rugby forward.
"Nobody wants to see a club like Albion go out of business.
"There's nothing in it for us – we have had a connection with Albion for many years and nobody wants to see a club like Plymouth Albion go out of business.
"The new owners needed a stop gap – we haven't considered anything beyond the end of this season."
Gibson would certainly not be available for Albion duty next season, as he will be working for Chiefs' academy at Exeter College

| PLYMOUTH Albion fans are threatening to boycott Saturday's final home game of the season following the news of Graham Dawe's sacking on Monday.
The club are set to play Hartpury College at Brickfields this weekend before an away trip to table-topping Richmond next weekend, the final match of the season.
Exeter Chiefs academy coach, Rob Gibson, and assistant Sam Morton, will take charge of the Albion squad for the remaining two fixtures.
But fans have expressed their anger at the new Albion owners, Dave Venables and Bruce Priday, and some are set to show that by not attending on Saturday.
Others have said they plan to boycott Albion next season, which shows the love that everybody connected with Albion had for Dawe.
The club recently entered administration and were subsequently deducted 30 points.
The new owners are yet to make themselves available for comment, which has also not gone down well with fans, who want answers as to why Dawe is no longer required

Brilliant news. I wonder where Pete Vosper sits with all of this having waived his considerable loan. I can see this pair being a disaster. A right pair of self made dorks. |

| click for article - The new Albion owners statement from the link wrote:
After lengthy deliberations, the new owners of Plymouth Albion have reluctantly asked Graham Dawe to stand down from his role.
This was done as part of a range of measures to enable them to start to put their plans in place to secure the future of Plymouth Albion and establish a firm financial structure which will enable it to thrive in the years ahead.
A complete review of the club’s processes and performance will take place to help restore faith in its financial position and to maximise the funds available to provide high quality rugby at Albion.
Bruce Priday said: “Graham Dawe is a real warrior of a man with a burning passion for the game and our club.
“The club needs people with the courage of Graham and his role in the future will unravel as progress is made.
“He again is a man with the morality that makes our game special.
“Our long held respect for him is further enhanced for the job he has done coming in to rescue the team from a terrifying downward momentum and his place in the history and heart of Plymouth Albion is already assured even without what has yet to come.
“Graham is standing down whilst we map out the future but it is a future that we hope will involve his ability and passion.”
In the short term Exeter Chiefs have offered the help of staff to support the existing coaching staff with the final two matches and the preparations for summer training and the pre-season arrangements. Seems to me these guys haven't got a clue. |

| Quotes from PHIL-STONEHAM
PHIL STONEHAM: Stop running Plymouth Albion like a Carry On film
FARCE: The takeover at Plymouth Albion has seemed more like a comedy film - Carry On Up the Albion perhaps?
JUST when you thought the situation at Plymouth Albion couldn't get any more farcical, new owners Bruce Priday and David Venables take the rug from under the fans' feet.
It now turns out that the new regime at Albion sacked icon Graham Dawe on Sunday, but they want him to return to the National One club at some point by the Wednesday
Wouldn't be anything to do with the fact that social media has been humming with support for Dawe over the 72 or so hours since he was so unceremoniously sacked, would it?
And of course, it wouldn't be anything to do with the fact that the rough equivalent of a third of Albion's 1,000 or so home gate are threatening to boycott Saturday's match against Hartpury.
Don't know if Messrs Priday and Venables have figured it out yet, but Plymouth Albion isn't theirs, no matter how much money they've forked out for it.
Plymouth Albion isn't even Graham Dawe's, though he was a big part of the club.
Plymouth Albion belongs to the supporters, gentlemen. If they decide to turn their back on you, there won't be a club left.

| Club statement
Plymouth Albion's new owners want sacked Graham Dawe to be 'involved in the future'
PLYMOUTH Albion's new owners have asked Graham Dawe to return to the club at some time in the future, it has emerged.
Bruce Priday and David Venables admitted they had reluctantly asked head of rugby Dawe to stand down from his role 'after lengthy deliberations'.
Now, three days after they relieved Dawe of his job, Priday is claiming the ex England man will be involved in the future.
The full statement from the club today said: 'After lengthy deliberations, the new owners of Plymouth Albion have reluctantly asked Graham Dawe to stand down from his role.
'This was done as part of a range of measures to enable them to start to put their plans in place to secure the future of Plymouth Albion and establish a firm financial structure which will enable it to thrive in the years ahead.
'A complete review of the club's processes and performance will take place to help restore faith in its financial position and to maximise the funds available to provide high quality rugby at Albion.'
Priday said: "Graham Dawe is a real warrior of a man with a burning passion for the game and our club.
"The club needs people with the courage of Graham and his role in the future will unravel as progress is made.
"He again is a man with the morality that makes our game special.
"Our long held respect for him is further enhanced for the job he has done coming in to rescue the team from a terrifying downward momentum and his place in the history and heart of Plymouth Albion is already assured even without what has yet to come.
