| I don't understand how someone can leave their family behind..... [url= [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]"Saleh left everyone he loves back in Syria — his wife, a baby boy and a shattered home in a Damascus suburb. But, unlike many other migrants surging into Europe, he feels fortunate: he has a Syrian passport that he keeps carefully wrapped in a plastic folder and tucked inside his secret trouser pocket. The document, if genuine, should prove that he is a refugee fleeing war, and not a migrant fleeing poverty or economic hardship. A huge difference when asylum applications are considered." |

I am not surprised that the non-Syrian brigade are doing this, as far as I can fathom, the economic migrants that are flooding into Europe (along with the refugees) will be sent back to country of origin if and when detected. |

I've no problem helping the genuine ie those who brought their whole family with them, the wife, children and aged parents.
I can't accept the thousands upon thousands of potential 'soldiers' or 'young to middling aged males capable of fighting a war' being 'welcomed'.
A line has to be drawn somewhere. Not our problem might seem harsh but it is what it is, we have our ways you have yours. t |

| I wonder how many males would seek asylum if it meant conscription into an Army sent to fight ISIS? Sooner or later these men have to stand up and be counted. You can't run forever! |

Sooner or later these men have to stand up and be counted. You can't run forever! Been done throughout history, Polish in WW2, Kings German Legion even as far back as the Napoleonic times. |

| You're all being smoked like kippers. It isn't just a racist thing, it's war coming. And not the retro colonial wars of the last 20 years, but proper war. They're stoking up a good head of steam with you lot. After the 'crash' it was inevitable. Have a good war. Make sure y'all come back now. Those who want war will always find it. And as usual, those who don't look for it are branded cowards. How Newell can you get. Most disappointed with many comments on here, it could be Pasoti.
One from the heart for me tonight, bora bora and broken bicycles. I must be a pinko. |

| Are you being pedantic Hugh. I think you get my meaning I am finding it all a bit of a trial using a phone connection with such weighty subjects. A bit like pissing against the wind. |

| I did wonder as to his combatant allegiance Franny & to be fair nobody here has suggested be belonged to ISIS. It would however be foolish to assume there are no terrorists among the swarms of migrants. |

| I hadn't seen that on social media, only on here.
It didn't occur to me that the photos intended to infer that the two photos were the same person - only that the threat of transition from IS fighter to asylum seeker was a very real threat.

It would however be foolish to assume there are no terrorists among the swarms of migrants. absolutely which is why i hope Cameron at least vets all these 20000 extra asylum seekers coming here too ake sure they are genuine and not something out of scarface. |

| One assumes that the asylum seekers the UK plans to take from UN camps won't have destroyed all their documents like the ones entering Europe through Greece, Italy & Eastern Europe. Cameron should impose a "no documents - no entry" rule to help safeguard the UK. |

I'm afraid that's just hot air in an attempt to appease the masses, nobody who manages to set foot on this green and pleasent land will be returned to their country of origin or the last safe country they chose to leave before arriving here. Even those whose asylum applications fail either just disappear or play the system by exhaustively lodging appeal after appeal, dragging the process out for years and costing the taxpayer millions in legal aid payments, a nice touch for all those immigration lawyers. |

| It could be worse. It being officially old reliable queenday, the BBC were doing an article from Kenya, where the old duck was when she got the call. Scrub up, ditch the Greek chap, you're on.
In the old days, migration was simple, you just rocked up to countries like Kenya with a few armed mercenaries and took over. None of this listening to the people nonsense. No need for asylum requests. Anyway, apparently Obama the emigre who made good, is far more popular than Liz over there. Not only were the orginal English immigrants not sensitive to local Kenyan culture, they absolutely slaughtered the locals after they rebelled against said migration. So, I guess our preent immigrant problems are peanuts to what some have suffered. I guess this must have happened before we gained our famous reserve and good manners |

| Ask the Native Americans about migrating Europeans.......that's before we called it Cowboys & Indians and played it in the playground at school.......guess who the baddies were in those days.
Plus the millions of buffalo westerners killed.....which where the life source of the Natives for food ,clothing and wealth etc........then the compounding of them into reservations so we could stop them claiming their rightful inheritence of the lands that where steamrollered over in search of the promised land by the Pacific.......etc,etc,etc. |

Give it time son, give it time. I'll tell you what. I'm not your son, nor your friend either, should you use that parlance. I've known war is coming for a long time. It's inevitable. However, these latest refugees, economic or frightened rabbits, are just a sad symptom, not the cause. They make up diddly percent of the immigration into these islands the globalized system has decided upon. Most come through workplace acquirement and the education industry. In the Northern hemisphere, people travel North for work, and South for sun, holiday and retirement. That isn't about to change. |

No need to read that to know it is utter blocks, there is already mass youth unemployment all across the EU, adding millions of young muslims to that at a time when economic growth in the wider world is grinding to a halt is economic suicide. The New Scientist is not peer reviewed and as such tends to be a home for muppets to publish drivel without much risk of being ripped a new'un, Wikipedia is a more reliable source. |

Wikipedia is a more reliable source. Not peer reviewed ? I thought you were supposed to be the sworn enemy of the establishment ? Tushk tushk I agree on wikipedia though. Nice to have knowledge at the tip of our fingertips that hasn't been through the Lord High General's filters. Some will be slightly inaccurate, but we're used to that sort of thing and can just ignore those bits. |

LOl.. If a massive wave of refugees was good for the economy... Why was not the immediate importation of a few hundred thousand displaced people not suggested as a cure for economic woes? Because it's liberal academic bullshit. |
