| Can someone please clarify for me, if PCC were to invest in HHP would it use local taxes, but if investing in Bretonside would it be another companies money? |

| If PCC invest in anything it is always with tax-payer's money. Not sure if there are any sweeteners involved for British Land in the Bretonside deal. Huge sweeteners already paid to Brent re: Argyle takeover and HHP. |

| PCC would not invest in HHP, they could pay (by borrowing) to build a new stand and charge PAFC a lot more in rent so that the expenditure on the stand was recovered over time.
PCC will not invest in Bretonside - the developer (British Land) PAYS PCC for the site.
If British Land tried to develop Bretonside and build a grandstand out of the profits, that would make the leases for any cinema or other outlets more expensive than if they were not trying to build a stand on the back of the development, that is Brents problem, trying to get a 'free' stand out of the HHP development makes the money he is asking too much, hence the lack of tenants. |

If you oppose HHP it's because you've read this site and have no mind of your own. So ATD have apparently put a metaphorical nail into HHP as well as Newells tyre |

| If Brent can't deliver (shock horror) then he needs to MARKET the club PROPERLY and sell to somebody who can deliver on promises.
None of this there is no alternative crap, market the club properly and then clear off. |

| - AFT meets Tudor wrote:
- To summarise, the AFT was informed that Higher Home Park is behind on all plans for both the fulfilment of its lettings and the planned timescale of building work. It was also predicated on letting arrangements that had not been made known to 16% of the participants (PCC and PCH). Contrary to initial plans, a hotel and studio school will not be part of any final design for HHP. As well as this, the development cannot raise the funds in time to make the balloon payment and Bretonside is not the reason for its delay.
Has the club cleared up which parts of the AFT and Tudor meeting were inaccurate? The 16% of funding (approx £8M) JB had failed to mention to PCC and PCH that he was expecting from them would be interesting to be clarified. |

- I have never been a fan of Tudor BUT:
1. PCC pay JB £1.6 million for the freehold of Home Park, giving JB a profit of £900,000 over the purchase price paid to Lombard. 2. PCC hand JB the keys to the Pavilions plus £2million to enable HHP. 3. PCC waive all business rates for HP for two years and half the rates for the third year. 4. PCC grant a lease on additional pieces of land to make HHP work for JB. 5. PCC loans PAFC up to £800,000 to cover historical debt.
The people to thank for saving PAFC are PCC.
JB had 18 months to sort out the financing for HHP before British Land were on the scene. He failed to do so. That failure together with the failure of JB to develop any single project he is involved in naturally leads PCC to look to other developers to work with.
The Council WERE in talks with JB regarding the rebuild of the Grandstand. The relationship is obviously dead now. Going to war with your landlord will never lead to a happy outcome. Rather than put out pathetic 'going to war' statements fans (both individual and through the AFT) should be putting pressure on the Board to rebuild those relationships with the only body that has put their hands into their coffers and saved our club. I wonder if PCC/Tudor has the gumption to respond to the club's statement with both barrels. |

Well then how about the owner (James Brent) delivers for HIS club (PAFC) and actually sticks his hand in his pocket? |

| Are there two conflicting paragraphs in the club's statement?
There is no credible alternative to deliver the grandstand. PAFC has been working with a city institution to find an alternative funding solution not requiring the immediate development of Higher Home Park. Although talks continue, they have not been successful to date and there is no assurance that they will be successful in the future.
And
A leisure scheme at HHP – smaller than that which has already received planning permission but generating sufficient monies to fund the new grandstand – has received assurances of funding from one of the largest institutions in the UK.

| I don't think they conflict - the PCC/city institution statement delivers a stand before any immediate development.
The other statement, to me says a development has been agreed that would raise the funding required once the development was achieved, this will be pulled if competition from another cinema/retail development at Bretonside occurred, thus as the thread title states - blackmail from Brent. |

| Oh FFS! He's getting ready to further reduce the Ministand, we're going to end up with four five metre tall second hand telegraph poles with galvy sheets tacked on with second hand nails in a minute. Show us the plans Brent, then when we have given it due consideration would you mind taking a hike? Feckin chancer. |

| 1st statement is that no-one wants to fund ministand only. Presumably the City don't believe the £1-2M additional income either as that seems a good return on £8M, which I'm sure JB would provide security for.... hahahahhaha
2nd is talking about HHP without the Studio School, Car park and Hotel no-one is interested in, leaving Cinema (Bretonside pending) and Ice Rink t unlock Pavillions development, along with the dingy shopping Mall. This should require new designs and a new Planning Application. |

| The statement is a joke.
Whatever you think of Tudor Evans/PCC, they've bent over backwards to save this club. They've often bent over to accommodate Brent. Now, him and his cronies have decided to turn on the council, as they've had the nerve to back British Land, an established multinational company, over a failing hotelier who's had planning permission for 18 months and failed to do anything with it.
Webb and Newell having the balls to attack the council for this is laughable. If PCC pay the balloon payment they're doing PAFC a favour and bailing Brent out YET AGAIN. Last time I checked, Tudor Evans wasn't chairman of PAFC: it's Brent's responsibility to build the new stand, not Evans'. Webb's immaturity in not being able to put aside a personal grudge against Evans is apparent too. I've heard Evans is completely f*cked off with Webb and it's dissuading him from dealing with PAFC. Wouldn't surprise me to see him jump before he got pushed. |

| And here was I naively thinking it was only Sir Roy Gardner who didn't do failure. Mind you he didn't confess at the time that he was completely incompetent when it came to running a football club, unlike our present Chairman. Credit where it's due and all that. |

| The final desperate act of a filthy disgusting Evil regime that is kicking out like a dying animal. Only one thing left to do and that is for PCC to hammer the final nail in once and for all and give Bretonside the nod. HHP and the microstand are history!! Rejoice |
