An investigation has been launched after Green Army fans reportedly used homophobic language at Saturday's away match against Northampton Town.

Club Statement


PLYMOUTH Argyle Football Club is a community-focused, values-driven organisation, whose stated aim is to make attending football matches as inclusive and enjoyable as possible for all members of society.

It is our legal duty to eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimization on the basis of age; disability; gender reassignment; pregnancy and maternity; marriage and civil partnership; ethnicity; religion and belief; gender; and sexual orientation.

Much more important than merely being a duty, it is the right thing to do - no-one should be subject to abuse or intimidation of any form because of their personal circumstances, and we have a zero-tolerance approach to anyone who thinks it is acceptable to bully, intimidate or discriminate against a fellow supporter, player or member of club staff.

We encourage supporters to report any instance of inappropriate comments, chanting or behaviour. There is no definitive list of what is or is not appropriate, but, if the target of the behaviour, or anyone else who hears it, feels uncomfortable, then the chances are that it is not acceptable.

We will continue to work closely with the necessary authorities to eradicate discriminatory behaviour of any kind, and take the strongest possible action against anyone proven to have acted in a discriminatory manner.

There is no place in football for discrimination.

Of course, I would not condone any sort of homophobic or xenophobic chanting anywhere, let alone at a football match. However, gutter chat has been prevalent at football matches since time immemorial.

Fans who attend any football match are guaranteed to hear something they dislike. It's whether you decide to go to Defcon 1 about it. I'm not sure it is unless you're really offended, which sadly, these days, doesn't take too much.

Take our upcoming games with those East Db'n slack-jawed, frog-eyed hoofwanking bunglefucks from up the road. I doubt you'll hear much of, "jolly good show" or "damn unlucky old bean" on that day!
However, a stance has to be made I guess, and Argyle can only be applauded for doing so - but, the club can huff and puff as much as they like, it won't go away. Recent events aimed at black players are testament to this.

The language from some was appalling but can't recall hearing any homophobic slurs.
Steward spent ten minutes blocking my view doing sod all whilst two argyle fans were having verbal with each other.
Copped a deaf un.

If anyone mentions later the Kings bar I categorically deny all knowledge of such filthy libellous tales that I have batted for both sides more than AC/DC....

With the club releasing the statement and old Porky chops bang to rights with little gems like this you have to question why he is still being allowed access into directors boxes at grounds up and down the country with his bespecacled sidekick?

Jobby jabbers was from Adolf Harpers mouth not Nools although Nool was defending him whilst he ran for the trust board. It didn't help his facebook was liking EDL and National Front although porky was quick to claim it was Adolfs grand kids.
