What the actual feck?

A cringeworthy own goal of a statement which is going to do nothing but make matters worse.

IT is enshrined in the core values of Plymouth Argyle that the club welcomes the passion and enthusiasm of our loyal supporters.

Also essential to the club’s basic principles is the belief that all of our many fans are entitled to have a voice, and that they can use that voice to challenge the direction and operation of the club, on the field and off it.

Occasionally, though, the passion and enthusiasm oversteps the mark and the voice becomes unacceptably abusive.

We are also a family club, committed to making Home Park a place that is free from racism, intimidation, victimisation or harassment, and which is inclusive for all.

Everyone at the club shares the frustration of the majority of the Green Army regarding our start to the season, and we expect that to be reflected in complaint and criticism. However, we cannot and will not allow Plymouth Argyle employees to suffer extreme and intolerable levels of personal abuse, and we will seek to protect them from that.

Plymouth Argyle has a history of weathering difficult situations with perseverance and with respect for each other. We know that the vast majority of the Green Army – admired throughout the country for the support that they give the club – upholds that proud tradition.

If its not bad enough having another dig at the supporters who pay through the nose to watch this shit, the standard of written English is woeful.

I cannot believe someone thought this was a good idea.

I'm beginning to understand why so many current and former players have complained about this character and his less than compassionate attitude toward others.  Thankfully, he's just a football club manager, and maybe for not much longer.
As for the club, it's had many times when it's been not been very pleasant. About as low as it can get under Brent, and don't understand why paying customers tolerate it. Football fans have always moaned at poor performance, just as theatre goers did at the Globe. Maybe this rotten regime going might change things.

A new low for Bungo Back. Whether or not he penned it, that’s irrelevant. As Head of Operations he would have sanctioned it at the very least.

So you’ve got an ex-copper who leg shags his way to a Club Secretary job, with zero job experience in that role. He then becomes Project Manager for this painful mankover. Then the title of Head of Operations is bestowed on him, and to top things off he now shows an alarming bad level of PR judgement in putting out this statement.

Way to go, Jon.

I can't believe the club have released a statement like this on match day. Do they not know how distracting this is for the players...?

Very Happy Wink

Head of Operations is on holiday apparently. Clearly decided to take a few days off as it's such a quiet period at PAFC with everything is going so swimmingly.

I feel that the Board and especially the Chairman have finally got their just rewards for treating the fans like mugs for the last seven years. Cosily isolated from the REAL fans in their little club over the pitch whilst they hatch plans to assett strip the club and deprive the playing budget of cash they are suddenly dumped right in the middle of the oiks. As a result of the shite budget we are now seeing how far such managent can take us and it's not good enough. The fans are rightly voicing heir displeasure, sure some have and will go over the top but get used to the booing it's here to stay until Hallett can convince us that change is a coming, if nothing changes then the abuse will continue. Argyle fans are as passionate as any other clubs supporters but blind support only takes you so far.
Wise up or feel our wrath.

Fans abuse manager of bottom of the table football club. First time that's happened obviously.

Another wedge driven between the club and fans, way to go Brent. No-one condones personal abuse in any way, but angry and frustrated supporters giving vent to their feelings after yet another defeat is part of parcel of football. Interesting that Adams is getting all the flack, even though Brent's austerity and asset stripping is completely to blame.

Having issued the statement however, it's a formal warning and the club can now have supporters ejected for 'abuse'. Very Putinesque.

This really is turning into a very nasty little football club.

if the team play shit tonight then no snowflake plea is going to prevent the boos. Im glad the fans are getting vocal, obviously throwing coins is not on for one moment if that did indeed happen but booing and voicing their opinion that they are not happy about what they are seeing is a marked improvement on "we're plymouth argyle we're trying our best"
