Used to love a few in the Hyde Park before 'strolling' towards HP with the m8s, briefly stopping in the back lanes of Hyde Park for a quick piss.

Ah to be 18 again.....

You wait until you get old..... as the great Billy Connolly said, "When you get old there are two things you should never pass by without using - an erection and a toilet."

I was always intrigued that there weren't more accidents from having a pub on its very own traffic island.

I hate the Fortescue! The beers are so excellent that if you're driving it's a real pain to have only one.

Had some great times in The Hyde Park, used to regularly pop in for a couple of pre match pints.

The Hyde Park are recruiting bar and Kitchen staff. There are plenty of outside seating on both side of the Pub. If you are a car, bus or lorry anorak you will be in your element.

Very excited to walk past the Hyde Park this morning and see the benches on the side nearest the Mannamead Road junction. Looks like they're doing a bang up job.....

It's a stupid shape is the Hyde Park. I never really liked going in there. Much prefer The Fort. It's unlikely it'll ever make any money as it has no parking. A shame really.

Know what you mean about the Hyde Park - it always had a weird atmosphere. I also really like the Fort - but have to admit that I tend to gravitate to what my husband calls 'wanky bars' - and so I'm hoping for a slightly more stylish watering hole on Mutley at last.....

Alex Govan used to be the landlord of the Hyde Park in the 60/70s. At the same time he managed our youth team, so plenty of laughs and stories about the Hyde park, but best not talk about them.
Always liked the place, and liked the folk nights upstairs, but rarely visited in recent years, apart from the odd pre match pint, wending our way from the North Hill pubs to the ground.

I have always preferred the Fortescue for Steve's very good beers, but he is a bit of a Wolves fan, it has to be said. Only use the Fortescue now for the odd excellent Earth Cafe vegan food nights and green networking evenings downstairs. Food is REAL politics.
If the Hyde Park is going to be a community pub, that is very, very good news. It works, and the Trafalgar has a new lease of life as the excellent Bread and Roses. It's the modern way forward with many pubs.
As for city pubs  not succeeding without any parking, do you know what you're talking about Hairy ? Hopefully you're just giving it a bit of  sarcasm but I somehow doubt it.
