| oh, sorry, they're both called Socrates and have been in Evora prison since November for possible fraud, tax evasion and other such law infringments associated with ex prime ministers, though, not war crimes Being serious, the reintroduction has come about now (imho) the rabbit population etc has increased. Sources have suggested that climate change affected the lynx population, however, myxomitosis (sp) may have played a part. |

| From what I've seen of the Potuguese I reckon they've eaten them all. (Lynx included). Funnily enough I read a report on the release of Lynx in Spain and they reckoned the roads had killed about half of all the Lynx they released, shame they are a beautiful animal. |

The helicopter version was not fit for purpose either when needed......and certainly not so beautiful. |

| Missing duckling FFS! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]It was taken either by a mink, stoat, weasel, heron, crow, raven, magpie, buzzard, sparrow hawk, herring gull, cat..... To name just a few. Unforch ducklings are the favourite snack food of every thing out there that eats meaty things. I've bred a lot of ducks and you have to keep small ducklings and small fowl of any kind inside or under cover for a couple of weeks. Feckin ignorant coonts. If this is news then I've missed out on a lot of headlines. |

| Very very sad. What a way for a once in a life time trip to end. Mass crowds congregating always carry the risk of mass panic/disaster. and it will keep on happening. Ibrox, Bradford, Hillsborough in football. I think Aberfan was the one disaster that shook me most. Such an awful unbelievable thing.
I think the Hindu Kumbha mela is due this or next year ? What a gathering that is with it's own stampedes. But while we're human, we'll keep on going. It's what humans do. Arsenal away in the FA Cup when we lost by 6 in the 1980s at the clock end ? was probably the nearest I've come to a crowd crushing disaster, and I've attended a few rock festivals in my time. We were lucky that day a lot of people weren't killed. My feet were off the ground for a good 10 minutes. |
