| Must confess to trying it once. But it was during the long hot summer of 76, I was outside all day with my brother and an empty drink bottle and we were four years old.
The twitter champ guzzles it down. Gets it specially imported from a blokes only prison in Bolivia. Chimp indeed. |

There you go nz green Thanks, just read it. Comforting in a strange way that the same old cnuts are still cnuts. Think the most interesting point was the poster who commented now that the sycophant super fans have served their purpose how they will quietly be dropped from the Brent circus like the unwanted baggage they undoubtedly are. Except the one with the money that is of course. |

The expenses bill for all Cllrs last year was under £8k. The £37k isn't expenses, it's essentially a salary. That's not what it says on the tin and even so, dear old Tudor remains a very expensive luxury for Plymouth Council Tax payers, in fact the most expensive. |

| Its the Special Responsibility Allowances that look like the gravy train.
- Basic Allowance (£) 571,556.80
Special Responsibility Allowance (£) 343,399.34 Travel, subsistence and other expenses (£) 7,852.55 Total (£) 922,808.69
Who needs to claim expenses when you just pay out sums that don't need to be justified by receipts etc |

| Which emails are Jameson on about? ATD emails?
If he's on about abusive posts then that's going to be one helluva list lol. The good news with that is it will expose him as a sneaky little scumbag who's a Labour party employee and will show what he and his friends get up to.
What do you think The Guardian will be more interested in? Some bloke gets called a cnut online or prospective parliamentary candidate hires private investigator so his friends can threaten violence?
Jameson you really are a fat ginger tw@t with not enough brain cells to fill an egg cup. |

Love your avatar hj. "Tesco value beans"...hmmm 12 pence worth of delight circa 1992...the can was crumbling with rust before you got it out of the shop. Takes me back. Now, where can I find a Happy Shopper avatar? That would be cool. |

He could simply sign up here and put his argument across like a man but no, he has to hide behind Twitter or ridiculous emails and abuse reports to the mods on here. What was the latest one? Oh yeah you wanted an address to send a letter to one of us |

Who needs to claim expenses when you just pay out sums that don't need to be justified by receipts etc Special responsibility allowance isn't expenses. It's additional payment for additional responsibilities. If you are the leader of Plymouth City Council you get a basic Cllr allowance and an additional allowance for leading the council. This allows Cllrs to be full time rather than doing a 9-5 job and having to fit in Cllr work around a job. If you think that's somehow immoral, that's up to you but to paint someone as a trough feeder as some are doing on this thread just isn't fair or (I would argue) true. I would add that defining it as an 'allowance' isn't helpful - it's a salary in all but name. Would you lead an organisation of around 10,000 staff with a budget of over £1/2 bn a year, be responsible for an entire City and be happy to be paid less than an MEP or less than Nick Chadwick? |

| I thought the council was led and the work done by the Officers, talented folk who could run rings around your average local elected janner councillor, at say a planning meeting. And I think lots of them earn considerably more than you, me or Nick Chadwick. Councillors should remember they are there to reflect the will of the people. |

| In a way Charlie, you're right. Officers suggest what should be done in their professional opinions with evidence to base that opinion on however, elected members have the final say. To attract the right calibre of people from a wider social spectrum, you do need to pay them.
The alternative is that only the wealthy will occupy these positions and that's not something I'd like to see.
I will add, there's a lot of talent in our Council House. Ex-teachers, accountants, landlords, business people etc. - they aren't the stereotype some seem to think they are. You can also vote them in and out.
Back to the OP though - a storm in a teacup. |

| I see that Tudor is getting it in the neck again, you reap what you sow I guess but it's interesting that others are asking for investigations regarding one or two of our local Councillors..
Link to crappy local news provider. |

| I saw him on the local news last night, moaning about the money his council has been 'gifted' for filling in the pot holes, in relation to the Devon County Council (who are getting more than him, boo hoo). I'm sure his council ain't wasting the tax payers money in other ways that could be put to good use sorting the bleddy potholes out, surely? |

| I wouldn't mind betting that both Devon and PCC will have less money than they need to sort out the potholes. Why the need for the devisive town v country bollocks? Some people have to drive on rural and city roads and they are all bad. |
