PostSubject: Tudor Evans   Tudor Evans EmptyThu May 16, 2013 11:28 am

He's quite a player in this, the guy that said "buying Home Park was absolutely the right thing to do. Argyle runs through this place like the letters on a stick of rock". It's a pity he forgot to mention a few other things at the time!

The same guy that announced that he would be ensuring that we would get our stadium rebuilt in the glory years and then promptly went on to sell it at the first opportunity at a knock down price that was discounted by PCC Tax payers only for it to be squandered away in inflated share value and sold to the Gardener Board and some Japanese bloke.

So we get left with a Club that has so much debt that's it's impossible to trade and Tudor pops up again to buy the stadium back using that bottomless pit of PCC Tax payers money once again - "All the tenure period it will pay itself back, so it won't be a cost to the tax payer. Then the council will have, going forward for itself, an asset which will generate income. It would make a profit, to put it in very crude terms, for the taxpayer."

To ensure the deal was neat and tidy and gained to applause of the public and fans alike, he ensured that the new owner would have to build us the new Grandstand, the Grandstand that he promised to provide years earlier that would have fitted in the new stadium that he promised.

What he forgot to mention was that a clause had been added so that this brand spanking new state of the art Grandstand would have a very limited capacity that would in turn save the owner from spending his own dosh and again in turn increase the owners profit from the Cinema, hotel and KFC's etc. which Tudor also forgot to mention. How all very convenient!

So what's Mr Evans done for the Club? - Well we're still here playing football on a Saturday, wonderful and, we still have a stadium, wonderful.

What's the cost of Mr Evans assistance? - A Club with one of the smallest stadiums of any comparable populous in the country. A cinema in the Park that has always been protected from such crude developments. Fast food outlets that should be better homed in an entertainment complex rather than the largest green area in the center of the City. A hotel that seems so far out of place it would have been better situated in the Dockyard Frigate complex. A school that would be welcomed in any area of the City OTHER THAN Central Park. Heavy traffic and a road used by large delivery vehicles to supply this ugly monster its daily consumption of burgers and "pick and mix. Last but not least, a Football Club with a debt that the owner refuses to discuss despite the indirect involvement of millions of pounds of Council Tax payers money.

When will the next buy out of PAFC take place Mr Evans, before the debt is announced, or after Mr Brent has developed our Park and returned to grooming his bank account?

Edit to add - Feel free to pass this on Hooper!

the guy is only interested in the celeb culture rather than address the REAL needs of the city of plymouth. I truly cant grasp why the Plymouth Labour council keep him as his leader given his yo-yo career in office.

Argyle take the lead as Pavilions is handed over

COUNCIL leader Tudor Evans has handed over the Plymouth Pavilions to Argyle boss James Brent.
The transfer of ownership to Mr Brent's Five Directions Ltd (FDL) brings an £83million redevelopment of the Pavilions a step closer.

As part of the deal Mr Brent's company will be given the site and a contribution of £2million – but no further council subsidy.
Mr Brent has published plans to refurbish the existing arena and build a new full-size ice rink beside Home Park.

FDL will re-clad the Pavilions, create a new entrance foyer, additional backstage and support spaces, improve lighting and acoustics and increase capacity. The plans include residential and retail development, an hotel, and creating a link between Millbay and the city centre. The Pavilions ice rink will continue to operate until the new rink opens on the car park at Plymouth Argyle's Home Park stadium.

Mr Brent, chairman of Akkeron Group, which includes FDL, said: "This is another important step in establishing Plymouth as the centre of sporting, leisure and cultural excellence in the peninsula.

"It will also generate a significant number of jobs."

Mr Evans added: "The new-look Pavilions will boast top-rate arena facilities that will help attract more events and conferences to Plymouth.

"It will also help to open the gateway to Millbay from the city centre, which is a key element of the Mackay Vision for Plymouth."
Theatre Royal (Plymouth) Limited will continue to operate the existing ice rink and arena on behalf of FDL. Adrian Vinken, its chief executive, said: "We are delighted the future of the arena and ice facilities has been secured for the people of Plymouth."

It appears to mention all the benefits to the Millbay area, new hotels etc. but conveniently only mentions an ice rink at Central Park!

It's time to keep a watchful eye on our friend Mr Evans, but I am sure Hooper will assist!

You wouldn't want a public pish house next to your brand spanking new hotel would you? So let's get Plymouth City Council Tax payers to move them!

Tudor Evans is so much in awe of the beloved "James" that if Brent proposed roping off each end of the breakwater and developing Plymouth Sound into a gigantic marina, with a hotel complex on the breakwater. Evans would hail it as a great opportunity for Plymouth "the ocean city".

Two guesses which branding expert came up with that. Hopefully he didn't take too much of a slice of the £110K the six signs cost.

Back to Tudor. Did PCC ever advertise for development partner for the Pavillions and HHP developments. Most beaurocracies can't buy a stamp without getting three tenders yet PCC have accepted Akkeron's AAP Lite proposals for Millbay and Central Park..

Rumblings are that Tudor wants JB to help with his other problem in the city centre.
