| Just checked my supplies.
I have enough food, coffee, milk and alcohol to last the weekend.
No trip to the supermarket today. |

| Thanks, Moist! You've just reminded me that I forgot to report on my trip to the Co-op yesterday. Sincere apologies.
I went to the Co-op yesterday. Amongst my purchases were milk, bananas, the new Radio Times and some chocolate. And a pizza reduced to £1.50 for quick sale.
Probably won't have to leave the house for two or three days now. Unless I want to, that is. |

| I had a liquid lunch of two excellent pints of Jail Ale. That's two more pints than I usually have at a lunch-time! And a very interesting conversation about, amongst other things, about The Trust, Argyle and .... people But that doesn't belong on the Mundane Thread. |

| Very cold at golf this morning. Came home to listen to Sparksy and watch the scores coming through. Football and cricket depressing.
Mrs PP doing me 2 bacon, egg and mushroom baps for tea, so it's not all bad.
She's a lovely woman. |

| Up at 6.30, working since about 8, I hit the wall about four o'clock. Usually when I sleep through part of the commentary, we at least snatch a last-gasp draw. Didn't work today.
Don't know what to have for tea. |

| I was going to have honey-glazed duck with a mixed veg sofrito on a bed of aromatic rice. But I couldn't be assed so I had a bit of ciabatta with hogs pudding, scrap ends of red pepper & a tomato. |

| Hmmm. Tea. I'm torn between chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce served with baby new spuds that've been sauted with bacon, onion and garlic, or cheese on toast and a whole packet of bakewell tarts.
I'll open another can and think about it... |

| Figs are better than dates.
But dried apricots are best. |

| Slept badly last night, probably because I'd had too much practice in the day time. However, this gave me time to do some important thinking ...
Wouldn't it be GRATE if we could purr like cats? Just think of all the unimportant waffle we could eliminate:
Have you had a good day?
How's your meal?
Did Argo win?
How was it for you? |

| Purring like a cat is my stock response to at least two of those questions.
I'll be doing some housework in a minute, then I'm taking my son to a birthday party at the Citybus Social club this afternoon.
My 4 year old now has a better social life than me. Fact. |

| It would also be good to be able to hiss like a cat. This could be used, for instance, when the girl in the hairdressers asks 'have you had your holiday yet?'.
Or when that complete stranger in the street tells you to 'cheer up, love - it might never happen'. |

| In general I find cats to be more intelligent than people. Don't see them out in the cold. |

| Cats are brilliant. They look after you when you're ill, and look after themselves the rest of the time. They don't need taking for walks, and they don't shit in the street. They're mostly safe with small children, and they help keep the heating bills down by sleeping on your lap all evening.
I'm firmly of the belief that cats are, in fact, in charge of everything. Only they realised a long time ago that that might involve a bit of effort, so they're happy to let us think we run the world. |

| Cats don't shit in the street. They don't. They used to shit in my garden so that when my kids were little I used to have to go out with a trowel before they could play in the garden. Cats!? Spawn of the devil. I'd rather have one than a dog, though. |

| You dont own a cat, the cat owns you, if it dont like you it will clear off elsewhere. Cats are safe with young children because they usually steer clear of them. |

| I guess when someone is enjoying a nice deep sleep, snoring is just purring loudly. |
