Spangles, Mariner and Rafferty, Monty Python, sherbet fountains, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, clackers (or whatever they were called) ... And still the punk revolution to look forward to Indeed. First two records I ever bought... Sham69 - 'Hersham Boys' (picture disc) and Ian Dury and the Blockheads - 'Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick', circa 1977 The later was a double A-side with 'There Ain't Half Been Some Clever Bastards'. Bought from Virgin Records on Armada Way, I think. |

| Err. That would make me a little bit older than you. The first record I ever got was Hey Girl Don't Bother Me by the Tams.
And while you were buying your records down Virgin, I was living the dream, singing with a punk band. Oddly enough, we played a gig at the Old Chapel. Which is now one of my local Co-ops. |

| I watched most of Italia 90 in The Old Chapel.
Does the Co-op still have dancing girls? |

| No. No, it doesn't.
Weird, though, buying milk (and bananas) in a building which once hosted me and my mates, belting out incredible, life-changing songs of which I now have no memory whatsoever.
Busy day today. Two parcels to take the post office, for starters. |

| Is the "Wobbly Arrow" (Shakespeare) still open?
We used to go there for a lunchtime beer from work.
More often then not, sacked work off for the afternoon and ended up in the Chapel. |

| Meanwhile, only back at work 'properly' for 36 hours and stress levels are reaching epic proportions.
How can someone decide to be off sick just before they are due back from two weeks off, and I mean just before (like a couple of hours) they are due back? |

| Shakespeare was still open last time I went past, yes. Wonder if they've still got all the little elephants up over the bar ... Elephants are the bestest animals.

| Im in a lot of team photos on the wall of the shakespeare as a mascot. My dad was a player and then managed the side in the p and d league when it was almost as good as the south western league. My uncles also played and ,y grandad was the club secratary. I remember after games back there we were not allowed in the main pub section so had to stay in the back room |

| The 11 am EasyJet arrival from Gatwick has just missed his landing. It's going round again.
I'll let you know if it lands safely. |

| That's a relief.
I've been to some nice places on Easyjet. They go to two of the best places in the world: Prague and Copenhagen.
Ryanair, on the other hand, will never see my business again, no matter how nice the place they claim to be going to. |

Short runway. |

| Did some constructive work this morning. Now I should be cleaning ready for the arrival of two small people.
Might just take them out instead. |

Now I know the family name .. In your father's time they were our arch Sunday League rivals on and off for a few years. Stuffed them in the Devon Sunday Cup final one year I remember .. that was pleasing . A lot of the same guys played for Devonport Villa in the Saturday P and D league. They were always a right old hoot. |

| Just spent a highly entertaining afternoon. Amongst the items on the agenda were a buffet pork pie, a small xylophone, a ten colour ballpoint pen and some cup cakes from the Co-op. |

| I have spent far too far much time on the internet today!
In the next few days I shall devote myself to solving the mysteries of the common cold, shopping (may even nip into the co-op), visiting my mum, serving behind a bar, researching historical documents, transporting youngest daughter back to uni, washing-up, moving furniture. As a treat, I may even eat and sleep.
The internet is much easier. |

| Big news here!
Been to Homebase (more nectar points innit), got the starter thingy, came home, fitted it and ... the kitchen light's working again.
Now to find a way to celebrate. |

| I know, Gib - as I was posting it I wondered whether I was breaking my own mundane rule.
Nice and sunny here today, but very windy.
Got milk today. Need to go to the post office tomorrow. And still struggling with the heating / dehumidifier dilemma. |

| Not long back from the Co-op where I bought milk. This is largely down to this site (the Co-op that is).
Shop at the Co-op - you know it makes sense. |

| Need to do the cleaning I should have done yesterday now. Looking after a small relative in the morning.
She (small relative) is four now: I was going to get her a drum, since she's quite musical, but realised that might not be such a good idea. Got her a xylophone instead. |
