| I am not surprised by this news as our gutless council were never going to turn down Brent's plans - after all he did save Argyle for them in 2011.
The battle is not over though - FoCP (or anyone else) should be able to drag this out for years if they play their cards right and hopefully Brent will have fecked off long before any decision is made.
Look at the people Brent surrounds himself with. That's all you need to know about the man. How can such a "gentleman" be friends with the gloating and classless Nooligans that now infest our club? He is just as bad as the rest of them. Utter scum. |

| Can't quite see how people can drag this out for years.Demolition is due to start after the Pompey game,by all accounts. |

I imagine a Judicial Review will be submitted before that happens. It can't be all done and decided after a couple of hours in front of the council. There is a long way to go yet. |

| Conspiracy theory.....buy club with council money, build huge development with the council's blessing and bank's money. When complete, have a ruck over paying the rent and do a "SISU" (Coventry City) and pay a knock down price for the hemmed in stadium. Or (at least threaten to) re-locate to say, Yeovil and the FA would do fa. If non-league with crowds of 2000 by then; mission accomplished. Then flog ground to Sainsburys or similar. |

I'm hopeful that this will be the case...... I just hope that's the end of it now. Get it built and feck the consequences. To keep dragging it on would inevitably just take up up more time and money which Brent will just charge to the club. Unless our form takes a rapid turn for the better the cnuts who are gloating about this now like Nooligan and PL2 FACED will face another much harder battle in convincing their followers that Brent is still the man. The proposed new ministand will look a long, long way away if we are stuck in another relegation battle this season. There is only so much shit the fans will accept on the pitch. If Argyle are languishing at the foot of the table still in a few weeks it will be nigh on impossible for the usual suspects to trot out the line about progress and the club being in great hands. How galling it will be to know that James Brent is raking in the cash while Argyle prop up the league for the 3rd year running, and that after back to back relegations. |

| In some ways I feel the same as you Jock. I don't live in Plymouth anymore and when I move back to the southwest I doubt I will move back to Plymouth. The complete and utter fuckwittery of the Nooligans and their retarded attitude is exactly what has held Plymouth back for all of these years. This decision today ranks alongside the decision to build houses at the end of Roborough Airport and gift Exeter the only viable airport in the region. Why build anything properly when you can do a half assed job and hold the city back for generations?
It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. |

| I agree that losing the airport is a real bummer but commuting to London and other UK cities I found that the airport was not really useful a lot of the time. Also the constraint placed when it moved to Gatwick from Heathrow meant that I could not use the flight link to other countries as much as I would have liked. Airport for Plymouth? - massive yes - but a decent one and not what we had previously ...... Ooh maybe we can find a flat bit at Central Park to do the job. May be another money making project for the 'reluctant bidder' |

| Can't help thinking promotion is imperative now. Why else would Brent be subsidising the team for another year when he's always said it was a one season jolly loaning money to the club. Saturday becomes very interesting. Will the players who been in a bit of a tweet fest about the new stand play up on account of the off pitch result. Or is the team as poor as has been witnessed thus far. |

| The reluctant bidder, reluctant my arse.
He knew from day 1 he'd be buying us at a knock down price so he could build his empire and ride off into the sunset even richer and with the admiration and eternal gratitude of the pig and his pals.
Look how far we've come. |

| Funny that Webb, our favourite champagne socialist, and Jameson, our favourite perennial flouncer and perennial PPC had it in for each Conservative councillor. Who'd have thunk. We also have Tudor Evans calling an Argyle fan a 'Chimp' on his twitter feed because of an opposing view of the development |

It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. My feelings completely - I have now lived in North Dorset longer than I lived in Plymouth where born and brought up. It's only when I go back there that you realise just how out of touch it is - whilst that upbringing has for most of my life shaped me as a person, at 56 I'm over it all now!! The club that meant so much to me over the 45 years of support is now drifting away - not sure when I will go again!! I was up in arms when Ridsdale was involved but now this infestation of vermin + Brent is possibly a more toxic mix - I suspect we will see another bout of admin before too long, as the figures don't add up now and this crap about the development making up the shortfall is just that!! |

| It will be a lingering slide toward perpetual, parochial minnow status, with grateful thanks to those who FIL the tents, provide free coaches and FESter the very soul of Home Park.
The predictable decline under, 'I'll never hear a bad word about that man and his lovely family,' has been followed by the unholy alliance between 'the reluctant bidder' and those who lack the vision, class and morals to care, as long as they get a piece of the action.
Unless this clusterfuck can be stopped, further up the authorisation chain, PAFC will be confirmed as lower league offal for generations to come and I'd guess that a great many intelligent, long time Argyle fans will turn their backs on the ongoing Avivafest.

| I see that on Pasoti they are putting the boot into that Amanda Sutherland the councillor who was arguing against the development "she aint purty" "she had dandruff" "strange woman" (that was from Sue the bucket rattler btw) just some of their nonsense. If they want to go down that route look at their "photo shoot" outside the civic house Tossers [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] http://www.pasoti.co.uk/talk/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=78296&start=510 |

That photo says everthing about our fanbase.................dying. Without trying to sound "ageist" , that basically constitutes a large percentage of the matchday fan-base these days.......that and the under 18,s. There seems to be an entire generation missing ie the 20-45 age-group or in other words the adult paying customer that pays the full whack and provides serious wedge income on matchdays. Its not just recently either, it has been like that for the last 5 years. |
