Always good to plan ahead.
Gordano's has always been my service station of choice, in a 'half-way from London' sort of way. Super markets best bet, cheaper petrol. Cheaper food. Morrison the best |

| Put the oven on for the first time in ages today - and I remembered to take out the roasting pan first. Well pleased with myself.
(Nb There's no connection between today's news and yesterday's microwave-related report.) |

| 3 (Three) pints of Harbour plus a bowl of chips for lunch in The Tamar with an old friend down from Perth I was seeing for only the second time in over 40 years. And I had to force him to let me buy one round! He reassured me vastly by struggling much more than me to climb the hill to the station. Pesto pasta (cooked by my considerate daughter after she saw I couldn't manage) plus a bottle of red wine this evening. AND I don't have to get up for work tomorrow..... that's what early retirement's all about. |

| Haven't been doing much mundane stuff lately. Haven't even run out of bananas or milk.
On Saturday, I was in Penzance looking at some pictures of mines and foundries and that. Saw a seabird on the beach. It might have been a cormorant. Or a shag. |

| Went to watch West Ham Cardiff last night. It was heading for extra time. Thankfully Vaz Te put us all out of our misery. It was more a massive sigh of relief than a cheer. Got to the Black Lion in Plaistow, mate goes to the bar with the instruction "get us a Doom Bar please". Comes back two mins later "sorry no Doom, so I got you a Kronebourg" Youngsters... |

| I bought little presents for the small people today (therefore I'm very popular). A make your own glow in the dark jewellery kit for the eight year old, and a box of magic tricks for the five year old. After I'd helped the five year old work out how to do a couple of them, she made her sister and me sit cross legged on the floor to watch her perform. The show began 'Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls ...' Bless em. |
