I had to report a fraud on my bank card once and I got an appointment at home from a PC. It is normal if the crime isn't an emergency for them to do it - no conspiracy really. They'll likely send a community police person.

I'd like to say to Jock to ignore all this but to be honest, if it was me in his shoes, I'd be just as angry.

Although most of us want an end to all this crap, the drama seems to attract the pop-corn munchers and they don't want this to end - I believe IJN is a popcorn muncher and therefore it won't end. IJN loves the attention. As long as people are talking about him, he's happy. It doesn't matter if that talk is good or bad.

Jock's issues certainly need sorting - one way or another. It certainly needs neutral representation there but in this bloody business who is adequately neutral?! Maybe Jimmy Carter's available.

I said some time ago, and I have repeated it, that the police should have been involved. I can understand your reason for not doing so, Jock, but how else will it stop? What would satisfy you? And that's a genuinely serious question. Without an independent investigation of the evidence there will always be the suspicion that someone isn't telling the truth. At some point you will need to say to yourself, "I am satisfied now" but unless you have some idea what would enable you to step back and say that, it will only carry on. There are surely more important things in your life. And honestly that's not saying you should stop now! It's asking a question.

And, as Peggy & others say above, there appear to be too many other people with real anger about this whole saga for any sorting of the issues around Jock & Ian Newell to deal with everyone else's grudges. What would satisfy you? I have read enough of the evidence for the prosecution (and in a very small way been on the receiving end of some of it) to accept the majority of what people say. But that doesn't move things forward. Unless you simply get off on coming onto the internet and venting your anger & aggression into the ether then something has to move forward eventually. When? How? What would satisfy you?

I think a good start for peace could be if Ian says something like "I'm sorry to all those that my actions have brought misery and stress to over the years and i vow to never repeat these in future in accordance to my role at the club and owner of an internet forum. Also i promise to not photoshop any personal information and store it online and will destroy all copies i have now of this" And he means it too.

Wont happen but if he did it may start the ball rolling.

To repeat, I am not saying that Jock or anyone else should simply stop (though, of course, that is an option). I am asking the question "What would satisfy you enough to stop?" and is that realistic?
