Take your Pick from this web site http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=nsu+cars&hl=en&tbo=u&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=fw22UPG_LOam0AXspIGAAw&ved=0CEQQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=675 I give the car to my brother, he parked it in Cornwall St, did not put the hand brake on properly, it then rolled down the hill and smashed into the beach wall, It was like the Imp engine in the back. I went on honeymoon to Bournemouth in a Hillman Imp use more oil then petrol, the year was 1970 I am still married. (Just) |

Ah,the memories.I was a bit too young to appreciate Cream when they were at their peak but caught up with them later.Mid seventies, trundling down to Pete Russell's or Virgin to buy Disraeli Gears,Wheels of Fire,Full Cream,Farewell etc and listening to 'em on the headphones that only worked in one ear.I tried to get tickets for their reunion concerts in 2005 and thought i'd leave it until a few weeks before, didn't think there would be much interest after all those years-jeez,they were going for £1700 on Ebay, had to make do with the DVD's and CD instead.Wonder if they'll ever do another one?I'll definitely be there if so. Anyway, first car souped up Ford Escort,ex police car and it could motor.Didn't start very often though, bit of a bugger really. |

| The NSU R80 was supposed to be years ahead of their time. In the seventies & even eighties they looked so much more modern than other "modern" cars. IIRC it was let down by its rotary engine which was good in principle but for some reason proved unreliable then. The rotary engine idea was developed by Mazda & proved a winner for them in later years. |

| Yup and unrestricted it managed to get to 60, I even went to an away match at St. James Park (not the real one in Newcastle) on it and ran out of bloody petrol on the way back. |

| My first (& only) bike. A Francis-Barnett. I bought it for £25 in 1971. I should have held onto it - worth a lot nowadays. |

| It's hard to imagine the shock when they replaced the Cortina with the Sierra, always been the problem with Ford. They've never really accepted their position in the food chain. |

| On the bright side, you didn't need a key to start a Cortina! |

| My first car was a 'T' reg (1978?) golf, light blue with no alternater belt tensioner as I found out when it rained once. My first bike was a Honda SL 125 'M' (74?). Someone stole its side pannels whilst I was visiting a friend in Gunnislake. |

| Oi, my first car was a Mk1 Cortina. My Mum sold it to me for £150 (it was only 5 years old) and I was supposed to pay back at a fiver a month, but never had that left at the end of the month. The last straw was me fitting a radio so she raided my building society inheritance for the whole wack...boo. Although a smart looker, it was a crap car and my next one was a 1959 Mini, one of the first. I was convinced I could now go round the corner at the top of Dean Hill? going down to the Broadway in Plymstock at 60, like my pal did in his. The look on the bus driver's face and the screaming of the girl in the passenger seat as we went sideways down the hill are remembered like it was just yesterday. |

| A '66 supped up mini for me... and I'm embarassed to say I then proceeeded to pay out for it to be sprayed racing green ( the only Argyle green my fiance would accept ) with a go faster stripe over the top. It blew up on the M4 early one morning coming back from an Argyle away day, and that was that. I followed F1 and James Hunt, even onto the continent, and then bought a Vauxhall Firenza having seen Henry Cooper, I think, roll one at Brands Hatch. Another foolish buy.
I'm no petrol head now I've grown up. |

| 1st was a Commer Imp van, cira 68? Awful thing and got caught drink driving when I came home early on a saturday night and drove the f*cker while the parents were away, only got to end of my road and the plod were waiting! Was way over the limit and on provisional licence, book to be thrown? No, after parents flogging the car within days of getting back the cops come back with just under the limit, but still get endorsment for provisional. I did eventually get done a rew years later in Plympton! |

| Triumph 1300. Paid £50 to a bloke called Terry from Staddon Heights golf club for it.
Lasted about 6 months before it was nicked from Gunnersbury Park, London, while I was playing football. Had my Brixton Briefcase inside too and I was still paying for it ! This is the last song I remember playing on it.
