This isn't pasoti, ATD doesn't desperately need numbers so that it can boast some sort of agenda for the "well in few" and ATD won't stop if you vanish GG. I guess what I am trying to say is, I really don't give a flying one! Next flounce! |

| Ok GG I'll bite. My view on this is that Ian Newell has been critical of the Argyle marketing department recently, his auctions and Nikkk do a far better job of raising funds. This maybe partially correct, but then if Nikkk is going to be throwing money around by the wheelbarrow load, Newell could be auctioning bags of his own shit and Nikkk would pay a couple of grand.
Newell gets a seat in the Director's Box, is James Brent's friend, so if he says the marketing department isn't doing a good job then his friend maybe listening to him and thinks to himself I could save a fair bit of cash by cutting down on the crap marketing dept.
Chris Webb gets the President's role at the club, is James Brent's friend, he informs his buddy James that it doesn't make sense for Peggy to be allowed to keep writing her programme piece, because she dared to be critical of the Forza Verde after being pushed out of her regular seat for the spotty little wankers.
Maybe James asks Chris why somebody else at the club has never come up with a fantastic idea like the Forza Verde before? Or the great idea of utilising Blocks 17 and 18 of the Lyndhurst End and having families in there, next to the away fans?
This may have got James thinking that Chris Webb is coming up with ideas for free that are saving him money and thinks why should I be paying someone when these ideas are coming from friends at just the cost of a car park pass?
This is just supposition of course, but someone somewhere is advising James Brent on things like how many fans are going to turn up to watch shit like Sunday. Someone somewhere is telling James Brent that fans will do little chores like litter picking and stuffing season tickets into envelopes for the cost of a cup of tea, rather than pay someone an already paltry £15k a year or so.
There were comments posted on here last night, that were later removed, which suggested knowledge of todays news, and hinted at the kind of thing I am suggesting.
A year or so ago Ian Newell and Chris Webb would've done anything, in their own words, to "save" the club. They would've been up in arms at news that 10 people were losing their jobs. The uproar would've been ten times worse if someone who was making stacks of money out of the club was wielding the axe.
Chris Webb would have been chaining himself to the gates before he was brought onside and made President. Ian Newell would have been calling the "dogs of war" to be unleashed on the person making that decision, and that would have been before these staff had gone so long without pay.
Tonight what are these two campaigners saying about the redundacies? Fuc k all. Not a fuckin dickie bird. Chris "Mr Trade Union" Webb is more concerned about the US Presidential election, obviously now he's a president himself eh comrade? And Newell is flying off to Singapore business class.
Now I have a lot of time for you posting on here GG, but right now you know that these two crusaders would not have stood for this a year or so ago, just like plenty of Pasoti posters know it as well and are just too feckin lily livered to tell it like it is. Good business sense? Fuc k Off Brent, and take your two sell-out bodyguards with you. |

| Just back from the local after watching the football.
Can't believe this is true!
If it is true though, PROTEST!
Hit Brent in the pocket. Boycott games etc. It's what the Germans do (forget all this membership crap!).
Release the ATD HOGS OF WAR and protest (BIG TIME - maybe Webb will help?) against ALL the new development plans.
This is my club FFS.
Hit the money men where it hurts!
If true James (may I call you that), you really don't know football! |

| Chaps,
I've only able to peak in covertly tonight..... In case I've overlooked things can you just clarify two points;
1. How / who, etc posted news of this last night & why was it deleted?
2. I can't see one readily, but has there been any comment / statement from either the club or the staff?
Thanks |

Did the staff at Comet go 10 months without pay so that James Brent could make a mint out of PCC contracts? No? Not the fuckin same at all then Rob. |

Thanks Damon edited some comments he made last night. No the club or anyone representing the club have made a statement, but Chris Webb is running a twatter competition to win 2 tickets for Saturday's game. As the turnstiles won't be manned, nobody needs a ticket anyway. |

Thanks Webb is trying to offload a few tickets Jon, apart from that the BBC has informed the world. Know nothing about last night? |

Thanks Hello Jon 1. I don't think any posts were made on ATD last night that mentioned redundancies- the news was announced on twitter (today) by a BBC journo (I think the link is on page one of this thread). 2. The club has made no comment, Spotlight confirmed the news on their evening show. |

| Somebody posted on pasoti saying he'd overheard stuff. I assume Damon's edited bit said something similar.
Bleddy marvellous if fans were hearing about this before the people affected by it.
As for the lack of anything on the official site, imagine going to a meeting where you're informed you might not have a job soon and then having to go back and put out a statement.
Note to those it applies to (mostly not on here, oddly enough): there's meant to be a 'Human' in 'Human Resource Management'. |
