Another gloriously off-topic ATD thread... Wait a minute. I was advised to go into the Swallow when i go down to Plymouth tomorrow. I thought I was going to be hit so would have to turn the other cheek. Now I find out it is/was a gay friendly establishment and would still have to turn the other cheek!! |

| I directed some very drunk Barnsley fans to the Swallow a few years back. A group of them staggered up to me on the Barbican asking for a decent pub. It was the match when they could have been relegated from the Championship but of course they were never in any real danger of relegation as they were playing Argo and naturally won 2-1 quite comfortably in the end. Norwich went down instead (where are they now? ) |

| SS68 posted to me "Is it ok to talk about your boyfriend then". Not one ounce of outrage anywhere. Erm....double standards anyone? Or perhaps it's more about who you try to take the piss out of or perhaps it's who is taking the piss. Some people are obviously exempt from criticism.
I have nothing against establishments like The Swallow, I think some on here might benefit to get their buttocks unclenched. It is voluntary therapy of course. |

Norwich had to win and Barnsley had to lose and Norwich were a few goals down within about 15 minutes of their game so I'm not sure why Argyle are responsible for Norwich going down - they would have gone down anyway. The father in law is a Barnsley fan and came down to the game - hence why I remember it. |

| He did say he was on the Barbican at the time. Probably propositioning drunk men.
Has this turned into a gay thread? My favourite gay man is Daniel O'Donnel. |

She's only just got over finding out Dale Winton bats for the other side I don't mind gay men at all, and I watch programmes that sometimes have a gay storyline and I'm absolutely fine. Just wish they could put some kind of warning up so you can go and make a cup of tea when the perverts kiss each other! |

Why do you brent lovers always think there is absolutely no other option in the entire universe?? Well it may be a shock to you lot but there IS somoeone out there who would invest in the playing side. Nearly every other club in L2 seems to have someone like that to varying degrees FFS! It's a real pity the administration wasn't handlled correctly and the club properly marketed then we wouldn't be stuck with the non-investing specky banker. |

| You could also ask why you Brent haters always think there is somebody out there just as easily Freathy. I'm not suggesting for one minute that the Administration was handled correctly or that the club couldn't have been marketed better. However there is no evidence despite national coverage of the Argyle availability that this person existed then or now. They might exist but then again they might not. |

They existed - and still do. But now there is nothing left worth investing in. The club, land, stadium has been asset stripped and sold off. If and when Brent does leave, it's hard to imagine anyone wanting to take over. |

| I accept that there were people who would have invested in Stapleton's reign and before the wheels came off. Are these the same people you quote now? If they are why was there no bid from them because those very people would have known the club could be bought and this would have been before the asset stripping. If not them then who. |

| I think the only thing a new owner could do would be to move away from Home Park! _______________________________________ I'm one of the common people so says the wife! Exactly... And that is why the last item in the 'constitution' that the AFT is proposing (that Argyle never move from Home Park) is so completely misguided. It could lead to the death of the club! |

I've tried to delve away from the politics, mainly because I'm just too lazy to make the effort to think over all the intracasies and which camp to lend my support to, to put it bluntly but is that really right? Whether one supports Brent or not, I'm sure the last thing any of us want to do is close doors on any oppurtunities for the future. |

That could work well Mouldy. A stadium very near the A38 around the Ivybridge area with decent parking could draw in more fans from both directions. |

Yes, amongst the AFt proposals is that the stadium never changes its name, the club stays in Central Park and ATD is adopted as the voice of the club (I made one of those up). Ivybridge?...... How far would it be ok to move before we do a Wimbledon/MK Dons? Just outside Saltash would do a similar job. |
