| The future of Celtic winger Scott Sinclair was largely overlooked the day before the English Premier League window closed with the departure of Kieran Tierney to Arsenal. Just before Celtic's away tie to Cluj, manager Neil Lennon hinted Scott Sinclair could also be on his way out of Glasgow.
That move didn't happen, but reports have linked the former Manchester City forward with Jack Ross' Sunderland. However, it looks like this isn't something that will happen this window. |

| None of these transfers materialise today.
Ryan Lowe has confirmed there will be no more additions to his Plymouth Argyle squad before the deadline for clubs in Leagues One and Two at 5pm today.
However, Lowe did reveal there could be as many as three players leaving the Pilgrims.
When Lowe was asked he would make any more signings before today’s 5pm deadline, he replied: “We are done now.
“We have more or less got one done that is going out, and then possibly two more, we are just waiting, but we are done for incoming, we will be fine.”

| Sporting Lisbon have signed winger Yannick Bolasie on a season-long loan from Premier League side Everton.
The 30-year-old joined the Toffees from Crystal Palace on a five-year deal in 2016 for a fee of £25m.
In his first season at the club, Bolasie suffered a serious knee injury, which ruled him out for nearly a year. |

I have never used opposition fans songs as a barometer of our quality, I have a sneaking suspicion they may be a little biased. What a bizarre revison of history. Sturrock can't have been that "tactically inept" as he not only took Argyle out of the Fourth Division with 102 points, he got us out of the 3rd Division at the 2nd time of asking and then repeated the trick with Sheffield Wednesday. I also remember his Sheffield Wednesday side coming to Home Park and leaving with the points after a clever use of Kenny Lunt behind the strikers, something the supposedly "tactically superior" Ian Holloway couldn't answer . Yeah he stank the place out in Championship and Southampton with his tactics and Yoann Folly but that was in no small part because both clubs were run by muppets. |

| I'll accept that PS was a good lower league Manager, --good with Div 4 and Div 3 Clubs-- in much the same way as Warnock is good outside the top division. But it's generally accepted (outside the PL postcodes, anyway) that he wasn't up to it once out of his comfort zone, unable to manage quality players or a better standard of football.
As for tactics, I'm sure he thought you used them to get the smell of booze off your breath. Plan A was hit it long to a big CF (Evans first time around then Fallon) and hope for knockdowns. Plan B was "keep trying Plan A.
He was incredibly lucky to get Frio offered to him-a player who suited the system. However, it's noticeable that neither PS or Frio were ever chased by a top rate Club and both failed when they did step up, to Soton and Forest respectively.
Managers and players of genuine quality, Waiters, Bingham Pulis, Mariner Megson SEB however did have that quality to reach a higher level after some success at Home Park |

| Ryan Lowe has admitted he held discussions with striker Nicky Maynard about a possible move to Plymouth Argyle this summer.
Maynard scored 21 goals for Lowe’s Bury when they clinched promotion from League Two last season.
Lowe then took up his post at Argyle in June, amid the financial crisis at Bury which eventually led to them being expelled from the EFL.
Maynard, 32, also moved on from Bury to Mansfield Town at the start of July.
Lowe will take his Argyle side to play Mansfield at Field Mill on Saturday, but it is not clear whether Maynard will be in the Stags’ squad or not.
He has missed the last two matches due to injury so it seems unlikely he will start the game.
Lowe brought five players with him to Argyle from Bury over the summer and he was linked with a few others - Maynard among them.
Ahead of the trip to Mansfield, Lowe spoke about his former Crewe Alexandra team-mate, who played in the Premier League for Cardiff City, and whether he had tried to sign him this summer.
Lowe said: “We had discussions, but he has got a family. We didn’t get to the point where it was a yeah or a no. It was a conversation.
“What you have got to understand is that I’m good friends with Nicky from my Crewe days.
“I spoke to him on a regular basis when he was playing in the Premier League, when he was playing in the Championship.
“I obviously brought him to Bury and reignited his career a little bit for him.
Yeah, there were discussions but I ain’t going to force anyone to come anywhere. The club sells itself, as I have said before, and the players that come to me I was happy with.
“He chose to move to Mansfield on a free transfer. That was his call and I don’t begrudge that really.”
Maynard has so far made seven starts for Mansfield and scored two goals.
When asked how good Maynard had been for Bury, Lowe replied: “Just as good as everyone else.
“Yeah, he scored 20 goals but he was just as good as Danny Mayor, Callum McFadzean, Will Aimson, Jay O’Shea, Dom Telford, Byron Moore.”
Mansfield, like Argyle, were among the pre-season favourites for promotion from League Two.
Like Argyle also, they have had a disappointing start to the campaign under manager John Dempster.
The 36-year-old replaced David Flitcroft in May, shortly after the Stags’ League Two play-off semi-final defeat to Newport County, as he stepped up from the role of academy manager.
ansfield are in 19th position in the table after a 2-2 draw at port Vale last Saturday, two points behind Argyle.
Lowe said: “John has gone in there. He’s another young manager who has been given an opportunity.
“He’s trying to do it the right way but he will be saying the same thing, it just doesn’t happen overnight.
“I think he has brought in six or seven players in himself. Sometimes it takes time to gel.”
He added: “We will be going to Mansfield full of confidence, creating chances and hoping to get points. |

| Aldershot Town have decided not to extend the initial one-month loan of Plymouth Argyle striker Alex Fletcher.
The 20-year-old signed for the National League club at the start of September.
He made six appearances for the Shots, including three starts, but did not get any goals for them.
Fletcher is now back with Argyle and looks likely to get his game-time in forthcoming Central League and the Premier League Under-23 Cup fixtures.
The Pilgrims have a Central League fixture against Southend United at Home Park on Tuesday, October 15.
Fletcher will have to use those matches to try and force his way into the first team plans of manager Ryan Lowe.
Meanwhile, on-loan Argyle pair Ryan Law and Luke Jephcott both played for Truro City in their 3-0 win at Yate Town on Saturday.
The victory leaves Paul Wotton’s City in third place in the Southern League Premier Division South.
They are a point behind leaders Tiverton Town while Poole Town in second spot are above them on goal difference.
Left-back Law played the whole game against Yate, while Jephcott was substituted after 58 minutes and replaced by former Argyle apprentice midfielder Rio Garside.
Jephcott had been in action for the Pilgrims less than 48 hours earlier in their 1-1 Premier League Cup draw with Watford at Home Park.
Midfield pair Cameron Sangster and Tom Purrington also played against Watford.
They are both on loan to Dorchester Town at the moment, with Sangster an unused substitute for the Magpies’ 2-1 defeat at Tiverton on Saturday.
Purrington was not included in the squad, after making his comeback from an ankle ligament injury against Watford.
Meanwhile, on-loan Argyle left-back Ashley Smith-Brown was an unused substitute when Oldham Athletic drew 1-1 at home to Cheltenham Town in League Two on Saturday.
Smith-Brown has made seven starts for the Latics since signing for them at the start of the season.
However, none of those appearances have come since a 1-0 home defeat by Colchester United on August 31. |

| Some positive words about Ryan Law from a Truro fan on twitter- Truro City Updates @TCFC_Updates · | It was always going to be difficult to find a replacement for Connor when he left the club this summer, but Paul Wotton has done an excellent job. Ryan Law has been nothing short of outstanding & we can only hope his loan deal gets extended in January. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Tough one for me this. I genuinely thought I had wiped me hands of Graham Carey and his winging old bag of a wife but I just cant bare to see him line up against us and absolutely pull our pants down for any other club. Come home Graham, the rotter Adams is long gone and you will now enjoy your football again! |
