| Should never have got to penalties after controlling the match for 80 minutes against a not especially good team but it does make a pleasant change to go through.Thought that was it after missing that first one but that was an excellent save from Pickford and due credit to him and the following penalty takers. England have taken enough flak over the years for their technical and temperamental ineptitude in these situations and quite right too, so well done to them for getting one monkey off their backs. Sweden will be hard but definitely not unbeatable, just got a feeling that England will do them. |

Dunno, early stages of eventually spontaneous internal combustion maybe? |

| We won. We needed to win job done. Before the tourney I'd have bitten your hand off for quarters and something to build on. Bring on the Swedes who ain't all that, im fookin delighted. |

| As a footnote we must be the only nation capable of beating ourselves up after winning a knockout world cup match, self flaggelation at its worst, I blame religion. |

Absolutely. Every chance of going further, who the feck cares if we didn't win by more, or play that well. |

| For me despite the obvious claims of Harry Kane I think Kirean Trippier has been our player of the tournamount to date
Was I the only one thinking Henderson was going to miss.
In the quarters desevedly but Sterling has had enough chances. Rashford to start against Sweden Will be a very different game and very unlikely to see the dark arts that Colombia employed |

| You would think Trippier with all his money would get a decent haircut. |

| Watched the first 90 minutes down at the Eden Sessions. Didn't watch the extra time and penalties as Queens of the Stone Age were due on stage and that was my main reason for being down there after all. Had a mate texting me as the penalty shoot out took place, and there was quite some celebrating once the final penalty was scored. Right on cue, QOTSA launched into 'No One Knows' and the celebrations continued! Onto Saturday now. Agree with Harv, get Sterling off. Only thing about Saturday, Junior General has a school music festival that he's helping to organise, but he assures me that it'll finish by 2pm. It better do, or I could be watching somewhere in Fowey, and getting a boat home! |
