| Blimey. Weird even. That will have repercussions for Merkel. Putin will be delighted. If Germany end up toppling to the far right in the next 12 months, I for one, previously uninterested, will be glad these islands are getting out of the EU. These things are on a knife edge and it's not getting any safer. |

| Poor old Germany, did not see that happening.
To me it looked like they did not want to be there or care that much that they were there.

Merkel probably told the German FA that it would not be a good idea for Germany to win the World Cup on Russia soil considering the current political climate. |

| Great that the Krauts are out. If only SK could finish better it could have been 5 or 6! |

| Predictions for tonight's game V Beljuum?
Depending on what team Martinez is going to field, if he puts out a strong line-up, I think we'll scrape a 2-2. As, if rumoured, he's going to field a weaker team, I think we may sneak it 1-0. either way, this is Engerluunds first big test imho. |

| Sounds like South gate is quite rightly going for the win, he needs to play Harry from the start and drop the useless Sterling. Think we have a decent chance. |

| I'm not that bothered there's players who need some game time and we still have Kane on the bench. Squad innit. |

So when we are beaten Southgate will wheel out the 8 changes excuse when all along he fancies coming 2nd in the group. Talk about transparent |

| That level of changes is very insulting to the millions that pay these peoples' astronomical wages. But then what do people expect with such an industry. It's basically saying it's a practice match. It's on a par with Manchester devaluing the FA Cup for their money spinning nonsense a few years back. Still, that's how the globalised sport circus is these days. You get yer highs, you get yer lows. I wouldn't have watched either way. I was secretly cheering Southgate on in a strange way, despite the boring modern clones he has, mainly due to having a down to earth local running the team at last, but no longer, he's no different than the rest. No more heroes any more. If I am to watch sport, rather than participate, my interest is in heroes, not dorms who can throw something further than anyone else. |

Blimey, Germany are out of a football tournament, the country will lurch to the far right, facism will rise, taking the whole of the EU with it, throwing the continent of Europe into turmoil into which will step Putin as our saviour. I reckon old bees is our own Trump, he secretly admires Putin and all he stands for. Thing is when Russia get knocked out, do we then prepare for the apocalypse. Start building those underground shelters, stocking up on tuna and baked beans and get those short wave radios working. We're doomed. |

| Is there any other political nonsense we can glean from Germany’s demise, do we need to be concerned about the stability of the Korean Peninsula ? Will Kim Jong whatshisface take umbrage?, ‘tis a worry |
