Since 2011 the club has prudently returned to profitability with timely assistance from Tony Wrathall and latterly more substantial financial assistance from Mr & Mrs Hallett. In November 2016 James Brent confirmed that we had fully repaid the PCC loan which had been used to clear the debts to all of the existing 3rd party creditors remaining from administration, and that himself, Simon Hallett and Tony Wrathall had purchased the freehold as equity (ordinary shares not repayable by the club, and no dividend) which prevented future rent and rent increases being paid to PCC, making the club effectively debt free to all 3rd parties (this was also confirmed by Simon Hallett at a PACSA meeting).
In addition there have been substantial windfalls from transfer income, sell on income, increased gates and unbudgeted FA Cup runs:
£280k tribunal decision for Curtis Nelson £1 million FA Cup run and Liverpool replays £200k Conor Hourihane sell-on clause to Aston Villa £300k Ben Purrington: 300k £420k additional TV money ‘basic award’ and solidarity payment from being in league 1 compared to league 2
= £2.2 million
And not long before that we received:
300-500k Wembley and Playoffs 450k Joe Mason sell-on
= £750k-950k
Some of these figures are obviously educated calculations based on the information we are given so they can be pedantically debated by small amounts of difference here and there, but nevertheless we’re talking about large sums of money running into millions of pounds here.
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=97807&hilit=unbudgeted+income Posts on here such as this one since the end of January this year have called for the large amounts of unbudgeted income (around 2 million) since clearing our debts to be given to Simon Hallett to make the grandstand refurb even better, and to bolster our playing budget as we go into league 1 .
Since these windfalls we have seen some significant welcomed development of harpers park training facilities that the club confirmed would be paid for by some of the FA cup money it received, and and some pitch and ground maintenance work at Home Park over the summer. There also may have been some player bonuses for promotion, and we’ve spent a transfer fee of 15-30k on Nathan Blissett and a very small amount of compensation to Morecambe for Ryan Edwards (Derek Adams words).
Given that it has recently been suggested that we have the 5th highest attendances in the division, but the squad appears to be devoid of quality and seemingly built on a shoestring budget, with Adams himself confirming that he’s missed out on transfer targets as other clubs merely offered more money, and other articles suggesting that Adams is overachieving as he has one of, if not the lowest budget in league 1, are we to assume that all of this additional unbudgeted income has now been spent? Well well well. Let's see Porkzilla and his baconettes dispute this away! Agreed. |

The only thing I can think of that he left out is the 6 years of continually improving average home attendances.
Apart from that just about perfect. Agreed. |

in same way they went after the owners of albion last year cause they wouldn't talk to them every day or calling out the old owner of raiders over their running of the club or how it questions the owners of the devils for trying to get people to their meets.
Albion, Raiders and Devils are largely ignored by the herald these days so much so you struggle to find anything on their website but non the less the point is if they can find balls to go after owners and their intentions with those 3 clubs tn they should b doing the same with Argyle.
might even result in people buying the rag again. |

Nobody outside of the muff gives a monkeys, in fact most inside don't either. It still links into the general theme of football and how rotten the modern game is, our story would hit a nerve with fans of Newcastle, Northampton, Pompey.....Just get it written! |

That trait is overlooked when the team is winning but magnified when they aren't, more so than it would be in a team that at least tries to play swashbuckling attractive football. As Village would say "3 points is 3 points" but a certain amount of style carries the fans with the team and management through the barren periods imo.
You can say that again, Les There is the Argyle Shite Entertainment Liberation Front you can join. We've got thousands of affiliated members. It cost nothing to join, unlike the trash served up at Home Park. The aim, to destroy the notion that dreadful dour workaday utilitarianism actually qualifies as association football.
Who would go out on a first date with someone painting such a vision, apart from Skinny ? You've waited a long time for results to swing your way and get your dig in,congratulations. Not at all offended Les, just think that style is a complete irrelevance and results are everything. How has Pulis [and many others of a similar vein in the past] made such a good management career in football if that isn't the case? If Argyle had won 3 games by the only goal, nobody would have given a shit about style, in exactly the same way as nobody gave one when Sturrock's team were grinding out one niller after one niller. |

That's where you and I will always differ. I believe the game is about always striving to attain the ability to win WITH style. Adams will never get there doing what he's doing. And Adams' style is nothing like Sturrock's or Pulis's. It's beyond help. I don't want Adams to go, I quite like his attitude in certain matters, but I want him to see there are many ways of winning. If he wants to progress to the level of Pulis or Holloway's achievements, he has to learn new tricks. To say he will never play 4 4 2 is bonkers and short sighted. I haven't been waiting for anything like bad results, and don't take pleasure in seeing a decent man being sent to the lions by an owner with mal intent. Why you should pick on me in particular is perplexing, I've seen enough of Adams' style to make my mind up, but I guess there must be a reason. Les's comment tickled me given past exchanges regarding style, no big deal. Expect me to return the ball over the net sometimes, and in fact the more you bellow your boot camp views on how to win football matches, the harder I'll hit the ball. |

You genuinely sound like you'd prefer a season of razzmatazz Football while finishing mid-table, to grinding out results and ending with promotion.
And let's be honest, your opinion on style of play doesn't really count for much with the amount of football you've actually seen, does it. |

The alternative scenarios you've quoted is not an either/or situation, and no one is asking for Meadowlark Lemon. I happened to be quite a fan of Pulis' time down here, but then he was also laying other foundations behind the scenes, and could ring the changes is necessary. He was a clever man. He had a vision far beyond what Adams is capable of at the moment. He's too naive in comparison. As for watching football, I'll lay a bet I've seen and played far more football in my life than yourself, so less of the expert stuff. People have differing opinions on how the game should be played, whether you like it or not.
