| We actually played quite well in patches, 3 gilt edged chances missed, 2 from Jake, which he ought to have scored, oh for a fox in the box striker, the sending off buggered us, we go 2 down and end up chasing the game, but no need for hand wringing just yet! |

| Early days. 0-4 is a horrible spanking at home but it sounded - from the wireless commentary - that we were pretty bright until suckered for 1-0 and then they got the killer 2nd v 10 men. Sarcevic a bit suspect for me - seen him a few times and has that arrogant air of a player who feels he's a cut above...without actually ever having proved it.
Get 10 games in and take stock a bit, I think. |

| To anyone who went, how did the new boy play? Just saw a load of dejected looking greenies at newton station. Oh well another nice saving for me today.

| He didn't do too badly, couple of good touches and on occasions held the ball up well, not sure if he's the prolific striker we're after but time will tell on that one, however thought Blisset was unlucky not to start today |

| we got caught out so many times today and its criminal that we cant close down quick enough against teams that can pass and move with speed.
the turkish lad looks capable but not match fit today. The red card was totally justified as it was fecking stupid of Antoni Sarcevic to motion a headbutt right in front of the ref aftr he and madden got into a handbags at dawn and madden is lucky the ref didnt see his grabbing of the shirt otherwise he would have gone too. I hope Del Bhey drops Antoni for this after he serves his suspension and make him earn his spot back as that cant go unpunished.
Judging by the performance today we still not quite there and i would say we need 1 or 2 more on top of the 1 that's definitely coming in next week. I would also encourage del bhey to hire a fitness coach aswell. |

| Very strange afternoon was that. If after 30 minutes someone had said that Argyle would lose 4-0,then the funny farm would have beckoned for that person IMHO-Argyle totally dominated the half and played all the football against a real alehouse team. Has to be said that not many clear cut chances were created though and it was also slightly disturbing to see how easily they were outpaced on the break for the Scunthorpe goal. No doubt the sending off of Sarcevic will be put forward as a major influence but two points come to mind-firstly, Sarcevic should not have been stupid enough to raise his hands in any way against an outfit whose modus operandi was clear after about five minutes and secondly, teams have been known to respond very positively to those circumstances. Argyle didn't really look like opening the opposition up in the second half and in fact were clinically pulled to pieces on the break by Scunthorpe, although I didn't see the fourth goal- needed to fill my smokeless lungs pronto and left with 10 minutes to go. One perplexing feature this afternoon was that Carey played on the right and Jervis on the left-why? Argyle had a lot of good play in the first half down the left which was often detrimentally slowed up by the clear inability of Jervis to cross the ball with his left foot-nothing against Jake [of whom i'm a fan] but left winger he ain't and hopefully this particular experiment is at an end. Referee was crap, very obvious what Scunthorpe were playing at with time wasting and niggly foul after niggly foul, generally anything to disrupt but not using him as an excuse-by and large Argyle were architects of their own downfall. Nadir showed some good control, touches and vision, a not unpromising debut overall. |

| Better players take their chances, poor players don't. Football is also about discipline. New boy Sarcevic failed big time today. Having said that, hopefully that boring old throwaway cliche of "it's often harder to play against 10 than 11" has finally been put to bed by Scunthorpe. Accept overwhelming defeat when it happens and understand why. Naivety comes to my mind, let alone the possibility that this season's team has not been strengthened sufficiently to cope with a higher division where teams will have lots of Maddens and Holmes. As for Jervis, I thought Adams had already explained that he likes Jervis cutting in from the left, he's not there to go down the line to cross the ball. A sort of second blind striker, of which I'm not totally against, in fact it's a good idea for such a deceptive tall chap when running at people. |

Certainly can't recall Jervis playing on the left many times since he came to the club and he wasn't in that position when he scored twice against Charlton or indeed in the promotion match at Fratton park last season when he did fulfil the role of deep lying striker. Difference was,he was playing on his natural side then, one which he's occupied many times effectively both in terms of goal scoring and crossing. Time after time today in the first half, the momentum created by the good work that Argyle produced down the left came to a halt because Jake had to check back onto his right foot and play the ball back to Sawyer or another midfielder when players were in the middle just asking for an early ball. I understand the bit about the blind striker or whatever you wish to call it but Jervis is far more effective when operating on the right and why on earth would you not want to utilise the left footed, pin point skill of Carey? I don't often find fault with DA or his tactics but he got it badly wrong today IMHO and don't particularly want to see it repeated-it was a crap decision, end of. |

| The manager has got plenty of decisions right so its fair to allow him to get one wrong now and again. i thought he was wrong to start with the new forward, wrong to play Ness and wrong to play Jervis on the left and Carey out wide right. I also thought that at half time he should have taken off a full back and brought on Song'o for 3-5-1 but its a game of opinions.
Personally, I wasn't impressed with the forward, not match fit, not too good at holding it up and certainly not better than Taylor. I was surprised he stayed on and Jervis was taken off for Blissett.
Jamie Ness looks no better than Conner Smith and I was surprised he played furthest forward of the 3 in the first half. I thought he was a defensive midfielder but may have been mistaken.
Also surprised at lack of game time for Ainsworth and Lamerias, especially as both had reasonable pre-seasons and came as 2 of the 'bigger' summer signings. I suppose there will be a chance now because of the suspension but expect Grant will return and Carey go back into the middle.
4 points from 9 was a reasonable start before today, 4 from 12 now barely average. If we don't get anything at Walsall next week 4 from 15 would probably see us in the bottom 6 and the pressure will start to mount. Interesting times |

| Gotta buck our ideas up at Walsall and bounce back.....no need quite yet to panic but should we start to anchor in the bottom 6 the seismic swell of discontent against the Squire will be vocal.....far too many have seen straight through the fella now to give him a free ride |

If we had a proper owner who was genuinely interested in footballing success money would be invested in decent training/coaching facilities and a quality coaching team, seems clear already the squad needs a decent defensive coach and fitness trainer. but then this is Brent's austerity Argyle. |

| When you recruit fourth division players to play in the third division then your going to struggle. When the club averages 10.000 and you cant compete, i think its fair to ask the Community Bros who sadly own Plymouth Argyle why is that? |

| I thought it was pretty pointless putting Carey on the right second half, he's obviously a marked man and they had two players to him pretty quickly and watching from the telly perspective you knew he could only come in on his left peg every time and they knew that too. |

| Uproar by December, scapegoat locked in, Derek gone by December either by sacking or by own will citing "lack of board support" will be on the cards I think. Not a good start |

| Yes. Creating a vets when there is another vet within 130 metres.Creating a Gym when the Life Centre is 30-40 metres away. A feckin hotel when there is no need for one at HP. I'll give him his due he is one stubborn persistent man, he must be aware of the growing resentment.

| I don't think it would concern him at all, not in the slightest. It's all about monetising his trying time at PAFC, and showing us just how great the park could be in his head. I haven't noticed any pressing reason or need for the park to be drowned in yet more concrete, but then I'm just vile. One thing is for sure, he doesn't need to build industrial/town use units there to fund the repair of the grandstand, as that's being funded purely by fans' money over 30 years. So, given that he has received the Pavillions for nothing to fund the new white elephant ice rink in the park, why on earth does he need to build anything else ? Why ? |

Brent will probably get pp, what he wont get is enough mugs to front up the money to fund this nonsense, the Park is safe with the non delivering non developer. |

| Well, this latest plan certainly has all the hallmarks of the last one. It just doesn't make economic sense. Who will front the money to open businesses there that just won't pay for themselves ? Maybe Brent will borrow the money himself, rent out all the units and hotel for a year, and then go for the change of use goldmine in short order. It's all the rage. The latest "student accomodation" at North Cross on the YMCA site have had the cheek and confidence to publicly state that most of the building has been designed to easily change the use from students to underspec residential housing. High rise is back in fashion, but without the walkways in the sky. Loadsamoney to be made. Can't wait to see the shape of families being brought up in such conditions. |

| Said it before and say it again. This team is nowhere good enough for L1. Brent will only fund National league/L2 standard players so these mullerings will be regular fayre for all you poor season ticket holders. Argo will be relegated.
BRENT OUT NOW |
