- I'm wondering how geared up we are to replacing him. Have the wheels already been set in motion? If so expect a Warnock/Wotton partnership in some shape or form to emerge. Presumably the coaching staff (Wotton and McCarthy) are still in place and hope to remain so. If that's the case expect the name Paul Jewell to crop up if Colin turns it down.
Alternatively Brent might think back to the previous interviews and realise that he has already spoken to the best man for the job and he's sounding out Keith Hill right now. Although I suspect not because I don't see us poaching somebody else's manager (which is why I am not expecting Tisdale) and he's firmly ensconced at Rochdale.
Here's my big outside shout: Nicky Marker.
Here's another one: Leroy Rosenior.
Holloway? Would he come back? Would it be acceptable if he did? His return would split the fans from Day 1 so I can't see it. Do you think we should have a vote on it |

| Odds for possible next Argyle manager
Danny Wilson 8/1 maybe
Paul Buckle 10/1 no
Paul Trollope 16/1 no
John Gregory 25/1 no
Paul Jewell 25/1 no
Alan Curbishley 33/1 wouldn't be interested
Below are odds from SkyBet :-
Paul Wotton 3/1 not ready Ian Holloway 4/1 definitely no Sean McCarthy 4/1 not experienced Nigel Clough 8/1 maybe Darren Ferguson 8/1 no Kevin Blackwell 10/1 yeah Keith Hill 10/1 yeah Dave Hockaday 14/1 no thanks James Beattie 14/1 maybe John Ward 20/1 maybe Graham Westley 22/1 yes Sean O'Driscoll 22/1 yes Dennis Wise 22/1 no Lee Clark 22/1 maybe Paul Tisdale 33/1 Exeter manager so no Carl Fletcher 33/1 not after last time Alan Curbishley 33/1 not interested Paul Mariner 33/1 not after last time Steve McCall 33/1 no |

An added bonus is that the fat controller hates him I doubt Argyle can afford Holloway. |

Tisdale did wonders at team Bath and is doing a great job at Exeter. The chance to manage Argyle would be look good on his cv and is a step up. I am sure with the correct budget, he could do a good job here. Would Clough want to come here though, that is the question. He would have to live here full-time in order to get the maximum out of Argyle. I do not think Keith Hill would take the job as he is settled where he is.

| In much the same way as Alistair Cook is seen as a safety first captain then firstly Brent knows nothing about football and secondly Starnes is a safe pair of hands. Neither strike me as being dynamic. In addition it is widely considered that at Brent's price the club is up for sale which further underlines the point that he isn't going to "go for it".
I think you can rule out anyone in a job.
I saw John Gregory was in the Guardian today saying that he'd had a successful operation and he was keen to get back involved but then ruined it all by saying he was looking forward to working with a Chairman who matched his ambitions.
Wotton and McCarthy would work on budget but bloody hell..how cheap?
They both may have been decent players at this level but that is irrelevant. My mate is a decent architect but I wouldn't employ him to recreate St. Paul's Cathedral.
Newell hates Holloway so he's out....which is a shame.
Basically in summary I don't know who it is going to be but expect "beige". |

Yes. But if there was ever someone to right a wrong, then it would be he, although i really do not want him back here.. For me, i would like to see Tisdale or Clough given a crack at the job. Whoever does get it, then i hope they can get the best out of the team and push on from the season just finished. |

| Darren Ferguson could do a decent job here. Not sure i would say he is a cert to get us up mind but i think he would do a good job here.
Plus if the farm thought Sheridan wasnt warm and cuddly towards them Fergie jnr will make him seem like rylan from big brother |

| Wonder how long he's been feeding into JB about John Sheridan
Maybe he could feed in the sentiment and truth contained in the quote below |

Holloway did just that last time and would do it again. As for feeding stuff back to Brent. I hope he pays no attention to his chauffeur who decided that Tony Pulis was one of worst managers we've had. |

Please not Wotton.
And....thanks Sheridan but you underwhelmed. The right decision all round. |

I think he got lied to (if we are in the mix, we'll got for it) rather than told lies. I think he is refering to when ollie said he wasnt going only to leave for leicester. I'd have him back providing he has a decent right hand man with tactical knowledge like tim breaker did for him here when he is clueless. |
