| But a lot dearer than Wetherspoons.....and the food not so good.
Looks like the Whit Monday Fayre.....(no parked cars by the Kerb)...the whole square closed to traffic.
How about the 'Bo Peep' ......and..... 'The Orpington Buff'.....mouldy knows that one.
'Bo Peep' you need a car to get to it so not so easy to drink.
You wouldn't think I only drink a couple of pints on a Friday lunchtime. |

| I'm making a brisket and mushroom pie. It tastes awesome - been slow cooking the bastard since 7am. Gravy's like shhheeeeeeeeit, good feckin gravy. My pastry is usually shit so I bought it ready made. Mother fucker's gonna do that Rocky speed bag shit on my taste buds.
I was gonna put ale in this bad boy but drank it instead - Jail Ale, Fusty ferret, Doombar, Thora Hird's Handbag, David Coleman's Gruds. |

| Expecting to harvest the first of my home-grown tomatoes in the next few days.
It's been a bit cold at night, so I've kept them indoors for now. |

| Isn't the NHS excellent!!!!! I spent most of the night there with a friend & her elderly mother. (I've been up since about 2:00 & got home at about 8:00. Completely knackered - I managed a couple of hours sleep this morning) I seem to have spent half my time there in the last few years......
I looked around at the service they were offering & thought "could do better but thank heavens it's as good as it is & at the moment free at the point of delivery". It's the jewel in the crown that should be protected and not privatised by the back-door. |

I must agree knecht.......Mrs zyph had a hip replacement 2yrs ago with excellent back up and nurse visits.....we know of friends who weren't prepared to wait.....paying approx £12.000 for the op.....AND very poor after op service....with the advice to go to A&E if they have problems.....which really winds up A&E staff........PS.....Mrs zyph only had to wait 3 months for her op.....and had the same specialist who could of done it privately. Myself....I had two cataracts done last year.....and also only had to wait 3 months between ops, with good back up visits to the eye clinic. |

| Had to wait two years for an operation on a trapped nerve in my back, permanent nerve damage now. When your there it's great service, the wait can kill you though. |

Earliest I ever pick is about mid June. Nope - not lying, and not living anywhere exotic (yet). But then they're on the windowsill indoors, which means that as long as the sun's shining they're effectively in a greenhouse. And they're only little ones, so they haven't got so much growing to do. And I might have exaggerated a teeny bit, but they are covered in flowers. I reckon we should have a race. |

Before I had my op about 18 months ago (not sure .... time flies) I was hospitalised in absolute agony about 7 or 8 times. They messed me about something rotten. After one incident it was the final straw & I wrote a letter of complaint. I was given a firm date almost immediately. I've been very ill since Xmas. After my first hospitalisation they failed to complete my discharge notes so my GP had no real idea what was going on. It took me & my GP some weeks of failing to get them written up before I threatened a formal complaint again. The notes were provided the following day. Most of the individuals are excellent. The system is creaking. I wonder if the experience is similar at other hospitals? |

| I took my old Ma, 95 and subject to confusion due to poor hearing, in for a scan on a possible thrombosis in her leg a few months ago. After some effort the tech and I managed to get it done and we were told it was clear and just cellulitis that needed antibiotics. Back up to the treatment area where after a medium sized wait a nurse (sister?) appeared to say very sorry there is a thrombosis and you'll need to wait for immediate (painful) treatment to start. When I said we'd been told there was no thrombosis I was looked at as if I'd just farted. I was shown the report which says there was a thrombosis so I asked them to please check with the person wot done the scan. This, after much sighing and tutting, was done and we were told "oh yes sorry she wrote up the report wrong, you can go home now". TBF they did say a near miss report would have to be submitted!! It's just lucky Ma wasn't there by herself. |

| I think it's the hit/miss thing that bothers people the most. My most recent in-patient experience (3 years ago) had a good outcome and I didn't need to wait unreasonably long for it, but I could see how much the staff were under pressure and how mistakes could be made. I'm about to go in for an unrelated procedure so will be interested to see how things are now.
The recent revelations about senior management's (extravegant) expenses don't help either. |

Most of the individuals are excellent. The system is creaking. I wonder if the experience is similar at other hospitals? I have had two operations in the last 12 months. Apart from a bit of a wait, and a bit of hanging about on-the-day, considering what pressures they're under, I couldn't really moan or fault them, well, their cheese and onion sarny and cup of tea they offered me after I came around was, well, frickin awful. |
