| At least it gives the time to rethink the strategy and de-rail the stinking half baked plans once and for all. |

And come up with a far better plan that will actually make money. |

| The phrase that caught my eye in this story was value engineered, this is what happened to the horseshoe at Home Park. To cut costs the size and strength of the steelwork was reduced meaning an additional tier on top of the existing stands was no longer possible.
In this case an industry professional described value engineered as meaning "reviewing your design aspirations with a view to cutting the costs to match your budget".
Now I wonder which parts of the design will adjusted to reduce the costs of the overall build? The longer the project takes to get off the ground the more the costs of materials and labour rises. The more reviewing of the project that takes place, the more you pay your consultants and architects etc. the more money is draining out of your initial budget. |

| Over to you PASB. One of your 3 questions for the next meeting. |

| Forget the PASB mate. That's dead!
The most pertinent question the Trust might want to ask is...........
Is the new stand going to be subjected to "value engineering"? This could include being smaller or having less seats.
It's probably just using cheaper materials etc., it all depends on how much money JB is trying to save off the cost of the development. Or how much money can't be raised. Or how much costs have gone up. Or all three. |

| I think the mini-stand has been "value engineered" to its limits given the shelf needed to financially support the premium seating and corporate.
If the Studio School application doesn't succeed second time around in May there may be a nasty hole between south stand and BPE that could save costs.
Where did you get the idea that value engineered reduced steelwork in Barr construction prevented a second tier? Having looked at Easter Rd West Stand build which would be the double tier horseshoe this is based on self supporting second tier outside first. |

| GG, we were told by Akkeron at the Theatre Royal that they had discussions with Barr about a second tier on the horseshoe but Barr told them that to cut costs the steelwork was reduced and was not capable of supporting a second tier. That's not to say a second tier couldn't be built as you say but then we get into the problems of building it with the road going around the stand and the additional expense etc. I asked at the time if there was another way of building a second tier but the Akkeron staff dismissed it, talking about engineering problems ( which I can't quite remember) and cost. |

| Fine Richard. Thought I had missed something that had been sourced from Barr.
I spent too many hours watching Phase 1 get built talking to the site engineers and all the talk of expand ability was never an option and talk of inadequate steelwork and foundations was so much bollox perpetrated by previous board. The structure that cantilevers the roof has no facility for a cut & shut to lift the roof for future expansion, which is why Akkeron's Plan 2A is so abhorrent with primarily restricted views.
St Marys being the Barr single bowl larger ground has same cantilever roof structure and Hib's West Stand exhibits the self supporting second tier necessary. |

PCC have decided against charging to park at P&R car parks making the business model for the HHP car park less sound. |

| With no school, no one parking in his car-park, do he need that new road and the piece of land from zoo field? |

| Article in the Western Morning News by Chris Errington today....saying that AFT chairman Andy Symons is concerned by the HHP project which has been plagued by problems from day one. Have Akkeron the expertise and know how to complete a £50m build...it is looking doubtful. |

| At least Andy is now 'playing some shots'.
The WMN is not yet under orders ?
It's a tacky development proposal, unfit for purpose and will only ever benefit the developer. No wonder there is a reluctance to invest. |
