I think we've played ok.

We've let them off the hook with a number of truly shit corners and free kicks when we've worked it into their third, and perhaps should have killed it earlier. There isn't a huge amount of fluency with our central midfield, but there are goals and pace up front and we've not conceded many this last year or so.

Hopefully Poland's lack of prospects will see a nerve-free match on Tuesday, but I somehow doubt it.

I bet Wilshire was fuming about the second goal, scored by a non English born player and all that.

Townsend played well in the second half and scored a cracking goal, but i thought he did nothing in the first half, still its all about oppinions i suppose, on the other hand i thought gerrard played well.

Oh Suffers, Townsend was MotM not simply for what he did but for what he was constantly trying to do, for seventy minutes all Gerrard did was swan around giving the ball away, just like he always does, strangely after Carrick came on he started passing the ball much better. Ecery time Townsend got the ball he upped the tempo, Gerrard looked as though he had set out to send the world to sleep.

Far better result than overall performance although the kids up front started to get it together late on, shame Shrek was constantly in the fooking way, at least it is our hands, mind you what happened last time Poland visited Wembley with us just needing a win?

Walker wont be missed, Smalling or Jones will be decent cover, all that is needed is to lose Shrek, which will not happen, or one of the other light weights to bring in Ricky and free up the left hand side to allow Baines room to work and give him and Townsend a better target to hit, Lambert, Sturridge would be a decent shout.

Was a good game with actually a decent atmos for once. Townsend the standout. It should also be noted that Carrick is awful and the cheapo KFC impersination near Wembley Central station has probably given me the shits

Probably better there than at home on the Tele Londongreen. Sorry to say but it looked a banker nil nil at halftime with neither side particularly looking like scoring. Quite how it ended 4 - 1 is a bit of a mystery to me. First half was drab to say the least. Absolutely agree on the MOM though. Stitched on for me but not much of a competition from anywhere else.
