A private university. Amongst the subjects on offer might be Computing for your Future; modules would include 'Privacy Settings: the costs of getting them wrong when you thought you'd covered your back', 'Moderation: all things in excess', and of course 'Establishing, Sharing and Maintaining Multiple Logins'. All taught, naturally, in the sparkling new Napoleon computer labs. The law school could offer special short courses in libel threats, the use of imaginary online solicitors and how to draft legal letters and send them to the wrong person. The English department will research new ways of insulting and abusing people, with particular reference to online forums, while the criminology department will explore the use of beer as a weapon. Meanwhile, the business school could be a world leader in subjects such as basing break-even figures on ludicrous projections, developing public relations strategies around the concept of telling customers to shop elsewhere, and how to come across as transparent while keeping everything secret. There would also be courses in 'Charity Begins at Home Park: Fundraising for Private Enterprise' and - in a first for education - a master's degree in Leadership and Unity (the Chair in this field to be endowed by El Presidente). As if that wasn't enough, there could also be a global first: a degree in private investigation. In a world exclusive, a sample of the fabric to be used for the gowns, and as a ribbon around the mortar-board, is previewed here. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Maybe we'll have FES Home Park or even FIL Home Park.
Not that anyone will call it that of course.
I mean, who actually calls the Devonport the FES Devonport. Apart from the pig that is. |

At the moment we are assuming that the owners of PAFC and HHP are benign, but it would not surprise me in the slightest if HHP is sold (either before or after development). If HHP is run by a different entity then there is the possibility of conflict in the future. For example, would the new owners of HHP oppose any increase in capacity if they thought it might damage their business at HHP?
And if Brent is as philanthropic as some claim, why didn't he make PAFC pay for the £10m mini stand through the £1.2m annual rent? At least then in 10 years time the club could be making profit from the land they leased from the council and still retain the option of buying the ground back. It's £300k for the four, not each. So that's about £3000 or so pcw per unit. Anyone know how that compares to rental in the city? The HP deal agreed in 2011 was the club would have a 30 year lease on HP for £135k pa. The original deal was that the rent could only go up every five years, between 2-4%. The rent would be raised 150% if Argyle made the Championship and 300% for the Premier League. The buy-back option is also every five years, for 12x the annual rent. You can read more here which includes this more specific report. Tim |

| Could Argyle end up renting one of the retail units for a new Far Post Club? Or the GTs for a Fan Fest venue? Because if that doesn't happen then there's nowhere for either to go within HHP the plan as publicised so far.
Assuming that this does not happen, because Brent taking £75,000 a year out of the club (or out of the GTs after all the help they have provided already) would be unthinkable, then where can either a Fan Fest or an FPC actually go? Argyle has no room in what little real estate it will still lease and Brent's bit will be chockers with other stuff.
That leaves only council land. Or parkland as some might describe it.
Cottage Field must be in the gunsites for this.
If it is going to happen at all. |

| For someone who goes on and on like he's the authority on everything X-Isle isn't half a thick tw@t! He's still in the "Geddit built" club because it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick He's being ripped to shreds on this thread because the intelligent posters are asking things like where is the bar going that will hold the Brent loved fanfests, and all X-Isle can come back with is anything is better than nothing. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that Brent keeps reneging on statements made before planning permission had been granted and Smiffy can tell from Crawley that Brent is the second coming and his quivering lip is for real. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I'm still waiting for Porky to stumble around like a pig in a china shop defending the latest revelations or his sidekick PL2 Faced to point out that there is nothing in writing from Brent to say that he was definitely going to provide somewhere for the fanfests and that they had run their course anyway. Being the social misfit he is Postey doesn't see a decent sized bar as a priority at all. Who the hell wants to mix with other people when there are important things to do pre-match like count how many holes there are in each goal net? Still nothing from Webb either? What a cnut he is making himself look. Betrays his fellow fans for a name badge and AAA pass so he goes into hiding. Pehaps it's time for a change of club president? Someone who hasn't anonymously attacked his fellow fans constantly over the last couple of years and doesn't believe that blindly following a rich banker/property developer no matter what is selling out his socialist principles. No skin off Webb's nose either where he's going to get his can of coke from before trotting off to the commentary box. In fact an exclusive 150 capacity bar only accessible from the notgrand stand will probably suit him better. Less chance of him having to speak to the plebs. |

I have it on good authority that plans are underway for a small unit manufacturing pasoti mugs and other novelty memorabilia. There will be another premises for the distribution of such items as mugs, novelty items, football shirts & coach tickets. Apparently someone with previous Post Office experience will be overseeing this enterprise. A further space will be allocated for a top-secret facility which is rumoured to be the first stage in making pasoti large enough to challenge the likes of facebook as a social media sports website thus creating Plymouth's first internet millionaire). There will also be a large hostel that will enable anyone not living in Plymouth to gain a Plymouth address which would enable them to comment freely on anything connected with the club - of course, as you would expect, residents would have to be carefully vetted. I understand that FEZ or FILL (I didn't quite catch the name) will be using a small area to garage coaches to provide free travel to the club's new stadium in Truro in the manner of Wimbledon's exodus to Milton Keynes. Of course, I may be wrong about this but it is what I heard in the pub last night. |

If it is going to happen at all. When the plans were first unveiled, there was something about the GTs having the opportunity to build their own place near the ground. Or maybe I dreamed this? I shall try to find a link. |

| Just found this post from 16 March: I've highlighted a couple of bits for further consideration - JonB wrote:
- Grandstand / Higher Home Park Redevelopment
PAS Board briefing 16/03/13 - bullet points
(Please note that the plans are still subject to ongoing refinement and of course, to the review & consideration of the planning authorities.)
The new Stand * The capacity of the new Stand will be between 4100 & 4500. * This will provide for an initial overall ground capacity of between 17000 & 17500. * The 'horseshoe' of the ground (ie the 3 current sides) can relatively easily have an additional 2500 seats added without significant building work. A 'slightly more difficult' further 2000 seats can be added to the horseshoe as & when the need to extend arises. This should cater for the Championship level; more substantial work would then be required for further extending the ground to meet Premiership level attendances. * The new Stand will be built by Akkeron, at their expense, from income generated by the wider Higher Home Park development (estimated building costs for the Stand are £8 to £10 million). * All income generated by the Stand (including everything within its footprint (eg non-matchday conference & banqueting facilities) will be Plymouth Argyle's, with the potential exception of a 'sports outlet' on the ground floor. * The interior of the Stand has three tiers; the tier with the main banqueting / conference facilities is also the one that has the private / executive boxes at either end. * Facilities will be dual-use wherever possible to maximise usage & income. An example of this is that the 'school' room designated for use by the Argyle Community Trust during the week will become the press room during the weekends. * If planning permissions are secured, demolition of the Grandstand may commence in August this year. * Discussion are ongoing with the Green Taverners to provide both transitional & longer-term facilities to enable them to continue to provide fans' events. * Ongoing considerations are being given to the best place for relocation of the fans' bricks. * ..... and most importantly, Steve from GoS will be given access to record the end of one era & the start of another..... |

I know it says at the top that it was "subject to ongoing refinement", but I just wanted to double highlight a bit there that Peggy had already highlighted. I wonder if the smarmy copper JonB thinks that "ongoing refinement" would be an appropriate definition of what is actually happening now? These Cnuts make me mad... |

| The "relatively easy" addition of an extra 2500 seats in the horseshoe is another point I'd like to see the PASB seek clarification on along with the other highlighted discrepancies from Jon's post.
Maybe some diagrams, costings, access roads etc. That's immaterial for now though as those are future queries, the immediate priority for the PASB should be explaining how this bullshit that was force fed to fans made it past a private investigator and a copper!
The prawn sandwiches must've thrown them off the scent. |

| Don't buy a pasoti mug. All you'll get is a handle to own and you'll be forced to rent the rest of the mug for £3.99 per annum for the next 125 years. You can also only use it on a Wednesday and you are not allowed to put Horlicks in it unless you've applied for a Saltrock approved Akkeron Horlicks licence.
Cmon Webb. Be a man and stand up to this shit. Be like Darth Vader at the end when he realises he's been had for years. Get your light saber out bhey. |

| And out of the mouth of the Porker, the champion of Plymouth and its environs, The idea of Ginsters having naming rights on Home Park is laughable, Ginsters are a part of Samworth Brothers, and if any stadium were to be named, it would be in the East Midlands when the Walker deal ends, not some little 4th tier club in the arse end of the UK. Reality check people, please. Plymouth lover? Who needs the reality check? Best place to live in the world, you need to live here to comment, now this, do you have a mind to make up Ian? Reality check please. What is so sad is that we will all end up with the club that Newell deserves. |

The wonderful Fanfest were born out of the rubble of administration.
Some local guys, came up with a briliant idea, and ran with it, to become so, so popular.
Problem is, during that time and since, 'land is cheap', the GT's pay nothing on rent etc (although they do pay all the upkeep, upgrades etc) because I assume it's a case of the club helping them to help the club if you see what I mean.
Now post development, land price (rent/rates) is at an optimum, and the GT's would not be able (I'm assuming here) to pay the rent that others will.
Very 'unfair' on the GT's, bleddy awkward for Akkeron, and loads of fans will be peed off. In other words, "we're done with you now so fek off!" |
