It's that tricky 2nd post syndrome again.

So Dave are you the groundsman or has he told you personally that everything's ticketyboo? If not then your boast of "facts" is looking as silly as you claim the rumours are.

davec may or may not have the right information (he certainly writes as though he does). The rumour may or may not be accurate - that's what rumours are like.

Who knows? I certainly don't.

I obviously don't know who this newbie is but lets be honest here, there are loads of "facts" spouted on here that are nowhere near that yet, because they have a negative value that somebody wants to "prove beyond doubt" their argument is true adopt them without question and they fast become that. I still maintain that davec's facts are far more plausible than the alternative right now.

It's an interesting antagonistic and aggressive style this Dave fella has, he obviously feels very strong about grass.

Some ATD members do have a habit of successfully assessing people and devious plans afoot at Home Park.

Others are at best naive and too trusting.

So Dave c are you prepared to reveal how you know the rumours are incorrect or not?

Or how about this rumour about the groundsman from earlier this year?

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Or would you rather comment on the praise contained in this news story which came last year?

Lets look at the facts shall we...you have all seen the pitch with your own eyes, the players management and long standing people associated with the club are all stating the pitch is the best ever at home park this season......then one paragraph on a forum states the pitch is a disaster and no money is being spent on it....can you see how you look ? I repeat how is the pitch in its present condition if the rescources are not adequate?
I haven't seen it, I'm nat a praper fan.

If it's a good fact it's got to be wrong.....is this the start of a turf war.

BUMP

As DaveC is back posting tonight perhaps he'll answer some of the points raised previously. And possibly not in such an abrasive manner, but probably not.

I don't need to answer, the pitch has answered itself this season unless A- you are unfortunately blind B- have not attended any games

It's condition is completely normal for a high level professional pitch at this time of year

Is that the same as Sheridan being on "completely conventional" terms?

I guess the bad weather hasn't really hit yet, we'll soon see how much maintenance the pitch has had in the coming months.

How would you quantify that and what are you judging it against exactly?

The pitch has looked cracking when I've seen it this season, and I do know my grass. Wink Wink

The pitch has looked fine to me too. It might cut up a bit tonight if it rains all day but if it stays dry and the strong winds continue the pitch will dry out very quickly.

I thought one of the points of the pitch was to minimise costs. If this much is being spent on it each year does it equate to being cheaper than a fully grass pitch?
