| Say what you like about the pitch but both teams have to play on it and we should know our own pitch better than any other team, yes it's a big concern but not an excuse for poor home form. |

Just for clarification I saw what others had posted and did some research elsewhere to see if the problems with the pitch could have been caused as described. It was confirmed that something as simple as not collecting the grass cuttings could certainly be part of the problem.

| Well, here's a page from the sport surface industry that gives the likely causes. It looks like it's a combination of factors, that could include the weather, too much shade that Home Park does suffer from this time of year, bad aeration, poor maintenance, incorrect fertiliser application, etc. so to blame some poor sod on his own for not picking up the grass one night would be so typical of this present regime, and Brent in particular. He has a habit of blaming everyone else. The buck stops with him. He needs a pair of shoulders. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Pitch looks alright, will not know untill tomorrow if it will cut up, it alright for the top of the grass to grow but has the roots developed enough to hold the plant in place for a game of football?
Artificial grass around the pitch looks awful full of weeds and needs repairing. Dug out and advertising boards still to be finished.
Was asked to leave by some young boy. |

| Trespassers have cost Argyle 'tens of thousands of pounds'
ONE of my frustrations has been the lack of security at Harpers Park which has invited local youngsters to use the pitches in the afternoons and in the evenings.
Despite advising a number of schools and arranging for mobile security patrols it has continued to be a problem.
As a result we are going to have to spend tens of thousands of pounds on fencing to deter the trespassers and this will be installed as soon as we've received planning permission from Plymouth City Council.
With last season extended until the end of May and the Rod Stewart concert being held during the first week of June, the maintenance work on the (main) pitch and the stadium itself has been condensed into a much shorter time frame than usual.
A huge amount of work has been done so far and I'm grateful to our maintenance team, the Green Taverners and all the volunteers who have pitched in under considerable pressure to prepare us for the new season.
There is still more work to do and this will be ongoing over the next few weeks.
The pitch itself has recovered well following the concert despite some early concerns as to the condition of the surface. We have now recruited a new head groundsman, Paul Chapman, who was here 16 years ago and has latterly been working for the Lawn Tennis Association at Wimbledon.
His enthusiasm, knowledge and drive should enable us to maintain a high quality playing surface for the team and I welcome him back to the club.
The training pitches have also undergone some major renovation and drainage improvements which will also assist in our preparation for matches.
Meanwhile, I'm delighted to report that despite the disappointing result at Wembley we've increased our season ticket and white membership sales and the replica shirts both home and away have also sold in increased quantities.
This support is really important and greatly appreciated by all of us at Home Park.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Green Army out in force on Saturday, encouraging the team and really letting the new signings know they have terrific support behind them as they strive towards a very successful season
Angry you can read this in Brent Herald |

Angry you can read this in Brent Herald Its for your benefit to put a link like everyone else manages to do tgwu when they cut n paste stuff they find and put on here as what you are doing when you cut and paste other peoples work word for word and not reference where its from ie link is called plagiarism.Look it up. ----------------- as for the ten of thousands comment from the Martyn. if the club actually looked after the stadium, pitch and training ground better and not wait till shit hits fan to act then they wouldnt need to fork out to fixing big problems. Im sure a fence or actually lock the gate as i have seen it open so many times in the past when no one at the club is on the pitches might stop those pesky kids showing up the first team squad with their skills playing five a side.
