| Just got back from a nice walk.
A vain effort at clearing a baggy head. |

| Just got back from a long walk with Mrs PP and the dogs.
We're all very wet.
No golf today. May play tomorrow though. |

| Not long back from spending some quality time with my old mum. After lunch, we sat down to watch at least part of the original Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (the BBC one with Alex Guinness in it): she bought it back in October and we'd been saving it specially for the holidays.
Bleddy DVD was faulty. |

Bleddy cold out, mind. |

You can, if you really want to. |

| If you knocked years off you would lose all the experience gained and possibly people you love. |

| True enough. If a bit serious, like.
Nothing on telly tonight, either. Might go and get some more practice at this sleeping lark. |

| Weather today is filthy and appalling.
However, since this seems to be becoming Peggy's Moandane thread, I'll introduce the 'put the heating on more or get a dehumidifier' dilemma for you all to chew over. |

| I lost a garden fence panel overnight. It's not just blown down, but blown away! |

| I've had no electricity since 5.26 am.
Had to shave in the dark.
Ouch. |

| I haven't shaved for over 40 years.
(I was shaved once but that's a long story.) |

| Gib - how do you know the precise time the electric went off? (Forgive me if this is a stupid question: I'm a bit preoccupied, what with still not having fixed the kitchen light and coping with the heating / dehumidifier dilemma.)
Brightened up now. Might actually get some work done this afternoon. |

Brightened up now. Might actually get some work done this afternoon. The clock on the boiler stopped at 5.26. Luckily, my hot water comes on at 4.30, so I had enough for a shower...........in the dark. (It's an old fashioned timer on an electric water heater tank thingy. It's old fashioned like many things in Gib - especially on the MoD Estate - including the infrastructure. Bit of a lack of investment over the years. We often have power cuts, and the water goes off on a regular basis too. Unfortunately we are the victims of politics and money. Many areas of the MoD estate are being handed back to the Gib Government, and no one wants to pay for upkeep/repairs whilst the hand over is in progress) |

| Ah. Must admit I always think of Gibraltar as kind of Britain in the 1950s.
I'm not going to ask what powers the timer. Not only have I got the kitchen light and the heating / dehumidifer dilemma to worry about, I've now also got the question of a possibly faulty alarm clock and the need to prepare a little tea party for two small people tomorrow. Not to mention the need to go to the post office tomorrow.
At least I've got plenty of milk in. |

There's been lots of advances recently. Think of it as Britain in the 70's now. |

| OK. I can just about remember them. Spangles, Mariner and Rafferty, Monty Python, sherbet fountains, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, clackers (or whatever they were called) ... And still the punk revolution to look forward to |
