Been to Homebase (more nectar points innit), got the starter thingy, came home, fitted it and ... the kitchen light's working again.
Now to find a way to celebrate. Do what Gus Honeybun always used to do in such circumstances ............................................ Hmm. Already done quite a lot of that this week (mostly when the Stephen Lawrence verdicts came in).
Or did you mean wink? Aaaahhhh ! Is that what "waggle your ears " means. |

I was talking about bunny hops.
(Sort of. Jumping round the room whooping 'YESSSS' was more like it.) |

| I always preferred it when Ian Stirling asked Gus to turn the lights out. That's what I call real sedition. |

| Did the cleaning. When it comes to the enforcement of domestic maintenance routines, there's nothing like a four year old (but only just) looking down her nose and announcing that something's dirty.
Loud enough for the neighbours to hear, too. |

| Four year old (but only just) has been dropped off at nursery, having spent an exciting morning going to the park, doing some serious cutting and sticking, and sending her tumbler of milk flying over a large area of carpet. I've also been to the post office. Now winding down towards a massive nap - the first of the week |

| In my experience it takes twice as long to clear up afterwards as the length of the visit. Have just woke up from my nap. |

| Me too Thankfully the clearing up didn't take too long this time. Apart from the milk on the carpet, which I hope I got off in time. And, of course, anything I haven't found yet. |

| A few years ago we had all the water main valves replaced in and around Slough. It was a nightmare for over 2 years. They even had to dig some up again when they relised that they had fitted them wrong and they were leaking more water than the oridginal ones. |

Had they been damaged by the war-time bombing? |

| No mundanity here today, I'm afraid. I've got a new and exciting (to me) project to start, there's a football match I might listen to later, I'm really enjoying the book I'm reading, BBC4 have got a new Danish drama starting tonight, and I've got to write my article for next week's programme, which is always a pleasure. Anyway, I could never live up to the quality of Mouldy's mundanity. Welcome to our world |

Had they been damaged by the war-time bombing? War-time bombing of Slough caused millions of pounds worth of improvements. |

| Sorry to hear about your back, Pete - it's a horrible, miserable thing, backache.
Most of my day's gone well, so far. One bit hasn't, though. |

| I know feelings of mild euphoria really have no place on 'mundane', but...
...having thought that all the christmas chocolate had been finished, imagine my delight when I opened a cupboard to find a full, sealed, unopened tin of Cadburys Heroes.

| You should have said. I've still got a carton of Heroes, a tin of Roses, big box of Maltesers, box of Dolly Mixtures, box of Wine Gums and some After Eights. I'm not much of a chocolate lover, but I did go a bit overboard getting stuff in. Every time we went shopping I put something away |

It doesn't get much more mundane than that. |

It doesn't get much more mundane than that. Really? I'd say that sounds almost scintillating! Looking forward to watching the interview with David Hockney on Countryfile later ... |

Looking forward to watching the interview with David Hockney on Countryfile later ... A team of part timers (they try hard, but really aren't very good, and don't play very often) against a club on a mid season training camp with 'not picking up an injury' at the forefront of their minds. It will be like a pre season friendly. |
