Really hope I can go to watch Harry Bish junior's audition, though.

City have had cheerleaders for many years. Exeter university cheerleaders perform about 5 times a season. Initially they get abuse and cat calls but eventually the Pervs and wannabe rapists get ridiculed themselves and the abuse stops. Can't see the reasoning behind them myself

This is what happens when you let such people who lack any sense of style whatsoever a free rein at a football club. Maybe Brent has always liked this sort of thing from afar, and they're all filling their boots. Unbelievable. I wonder who will be looking over the applicants at the "auditions".

They will probably be selling tickets - another income generating wheeze. Those cheerleaders who don't pass the audition & get to strut their stuff on the pitch will be employed giving private shows in the new hospitality areas.

I think what really gets me about this unworldly semi D suburban bunch, and the NWO before them for different reasons, is they haven't got a good idea between them. They're just so corny and out of touch.
On occasion I pop down to the Pirates at Penzance. Now, for those that don't do Rugby, I don't know if anyone else knows of the Falmouth Marine Band who strut their stuff throughout the regionin the Summer at many festivals and gigs.

They are at many Pirates games as "cheerleaders" and give it welly with their drums and trumpets and cannon, are irreverent, self deprecating in the most Cornish of ways and kick up a storm. They are simply huge entertainment that gets the Mennaye crowd right behind the idea of the club and the tribe, in this case Cornwall. They are simply a hoot, and worth their weight in tin.

Plymouth just doesn't get that sort of thing, the city never has, and hence the football club. It got it ever so briefly when Foot was on board in an official capacity, and it had it briefly when Waiters came down, and Bill Pearce understood a thing or two as well. I loved what the club represented with Foot ... it had dignity along with a little humour, long term identity and purpose. He didn't like it when property and self interest came to town and got out, as many others have done.
