So Newell and Nikkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk don't like the idea and the President supposedly being a socialist trade union rep who should believe in equality and frown on sexism.
I think this might die a quiet death and it will all have been just a laugh anyway.

Why on earth didn't Argyle do a 'test' run? Just have them turn up one day and see what the reaction from the Home Park crowd was like?
If they did well, then increase their appearances "due to public demand". And if expected... they are generally ignored or worse still, made a public laughing stock, then Argyle would have limited the embarrassment to everyone that might be produced by this idea.
In my opinion... It's only ever going to work if the girls are really hot and the dancing is really really good. They are going to have to be the standard of "The Laker Girls" or whoever, because that is what it takes to be taken seriously..
A bunch of flailing, overweight, unattractive schoolgirls careening around unsynchronized is going to be a disaster for everyone concerned.

Who's idea was this? Takes me back to hostess trolleys, teasmades, home brew, prawn cocktails, Blue Nun, mullets etc
Displays from some of the excellent classes on offer at the Life Centre would surely be more inspirational and less embarrassing.

Hey Dingle, some of us still brew alcohol even if we don't tipit down like we used to. Tomorrow the massive rhubarb on my allotment is headed toward a civil partnership made in heaven with a rather large bag of sugar, unless the Westminster Palace vote it inappropriate in their infinite wisdom and self interest. Always saw mullets as the result of constrained and largely repressed semi d folk, wanting the hippie look but not the life. They never did get it. The grown up children of those people are still out there. The mullet WILL return to much mirth, can't think how they're going to market it.

I get an unpleasant image of Tony Hooper chasing the cheerleaders around at fast forward speed while the Benny Hill tune is played.
Will the Forza Verde displays be upstaged by the Plymouth Hoes though? Or will there be spectacular shows combining flags, dancing and coloured placards?
Halftime entertainment? Not for me unless it's something like giving someone from the crowd the chance to score past Larrieu from the penalty spot and win a shirt or something like that. Most people are grabbing a beer or pasty or going for a pee.
Britain just doesn't do razzamatazz very well, thank feck.

I don't have huge problems with the idea, just the thought that this is considered 'content' like on a par with the football and is all part of the 'match day experience'.
