| The thing is that as ATD evolves, it will naturally gain more middle of the road posters. I certainly dont find it as rabid as it was when I first started viewing. Thats not to say that it should end up as Pasoti 2.0. I like it because its a bit more adult. Its more of a pub forum than a youth club, which I see Pasoti as. I'm as entrenched as anybody against the so called development, but would like to think that if somebody offers a decent argument about any subject that I would take their points on board. Fundementalism in any guise isn't going to bring progress, be it political, religious or in this case a football club. Welcome to all the recent posters. That your views may be in the minority on here doesn't automatically make them less valid, so fight your corner. As Brian said, 'You're all individuals,' and so am I. Steve PS Tring, you are a one trick pony. The trouble is that being right is a pretty good fecking trick. |

| My problem with James Brent is that I don't buy into the reluctant bidder crap one bit, and it's been about as amateur as you could imagine since he's taken over.
I highly doubt that there were no discussions between Brent and the high profile fans who fawn over him now. I don't believe Newell has only just become owner of Pasoti at all and in my view there has been a conscious effort to destabilise the AFT on Pasoti and by the same faces. I can't believe that Brent is unaware of their actions and I would even go as far as saying that some of the dirty tricks have been requested to dilute the Trust support.
Coupled with the catalogue of errors that have occurred under Brent's stewardship it doesn't fill me with any confidence in his regime.
From the ott budget, to keeping Fletcher on far too long, to no CEO, to allowing Chris Webb's stupid ideas, to the blatant bullshit announcements, to the PASB, to the farcical chopping and changing of the director of football stance to the constant deceptions over the HHP plans which really do eclipse anything else before in terms of professionalism, or rather lack of it.
I can't think of one major thing that has happened under Brent which would make him proud when looking back over the last 18 months or so and I can safely say that I will have omitted more errors of judgement like McCormick not being in talks.
We were bombarded with accolades from his little gang of friends who told us how efficient he was. How he didn't do failure etc and the big one, how honest, open and transparent he was going to be. Well I'm still waiting for any evidence of this transparency and even now we hear new snippets of info trickling out of command centre like the school and the amazing moveable road which contradict the openness claims.
I'm totally underwhelmed by Brent's tenure so far and the company he keeps.
I do understand that he took over a train wreck of a club and things take time but for me there is no evidence of any progress or even signs of the club starting to look like a football club again, instead I see complete focus on the property developer that his friends insist he isn't.
I would need to see one helluva lot of changes before my perception of James Brent changes and meanwhile it's been two more years of misery for Argyle fans, unless of course you get your kicks out of surviving the drop into non-league ignominy by the skin of our teeth, watched by record numbers of Argyle fans going to away games because buses are laid on.
The club needs structure and direction and the fanbase given something to be proud of, rather than a small but select band of fans being happy to be recognised as big fish in a small pond. Calling other fans who don't go to every game in division 4 plastics. 5000 or so will turn up regardless but it's doubling that number which should be priority, not getting huge away crowds that don't benefit the club financially.
The CEO I see will need to have expertise in maximising income from the proposed new stand, when surely getting the team rising up the league's is priority number 1 to the fans.
It will be an interesting summer on all fronts but seeing a change in Brent's attitude to the football is what I'm looking for. |

PS Tring, you are a one trick pony. The trouble is that being right is a pretty good fecking trick. It has only ever been one trick for me, dear boy. I believe the club should and could be up there, in and out of the Prem, with the rest of the big city clubs. That's all I've ever wanted and thought could be achieved . It was bad enough knowing what was coming next under Stapleton but this latest debacle with the asset stripper, ably supported by flag waving , dimwitted control freaks, is too much to bear. Anyone, who can push it all to one side and 'talk about the football' ,is not on my wavelength. It takes all sorts to make a world I suppose. |

If both sides could just debate issues both for and against without going down the personal insult route which is a pasoti trademark i am sure all voices and opinions would be accepted more and debated well. We may not see agreements but thats the beauty of having your own opinion which is what this forum is all about in name and should be in action. |

You forgot to mention the embarrassment of going on the pitch to be spunked over by those spotty yoof Forza Webb boyz at Rochdale as if we had done something remarkable! One year bumping along at the bottom is poor, but two successive seasons of failure i reckon shows his aspirations for the club for me. Property 1st, Football (and Argyle) last!!!!! Pensions, profit, politics and piss-taking stuck somewhere in the middle! |

We have such differing outlooks concerning the club and the central characters, that 'debate' is rendered futile and mind numbingly boring and repetitively tedious. The 'sensible' option is to avoid engaging with eachother, unless the topic is not related to the contentious issues.
