If it was fletcher the clueless, the specky non-investing banker and web and newell who guide us back to where we belong then I will be as happy as the next fan. However, for me scraping a win at home against the mighty Cobblers following getting knocked out of the league cup by Burnley reserves does not detract from the fact that we have an extremely poor but large squad, an extremely poor manager and an owner who spouts shit about "competitive budgets" but is in fact not in the slightest bit interested in funding the playing side, despite us having one of the biggest attendances in the division! There is nothing here to make me think anything other than a bottom two finish for Argyle. There will be a LOT more shit 'perfomances' and drubbings yet for the brent and fletcher lovers to enjoy.

Freathy, we didn't scrape a win.

3-2 actually flatters Northampton and it could have been more - they scored with virtually the last kick and we didn't look in danger once we went 3-1 up. We were woeful in the first half but the formation was changed in the second and Fletcher made a positive decision and made positive substitutions. I'm not a fan of Fletcher but credit where it's due. You'll probably tell me that was a 'fluke' though. Bhasera in the second half was superb, Feeney looked much better with Griffiths alongside him and what a debut from Griffiths - helped to make the first and scored the second. i don't care what league he's come from - he's on the pitch to score and make goals and he did both.

And Punchdrunk attending sums the guy up - all fart and no shit.

A win is a win ! Fletcher can't do much more than that. The very valid arguments of a group of vociferous detractors on ATD (of whom I am generally one) cease to be effective when they even find all sorts of fault with a win.

Just keep your heads down until the next defeat or crisis lads, you do sound a bit daft else to be honest.

I agree Yea Man. I'm not disputing that we have a large squad with limited ability and a Manager who I don't think will be successful in the long term. Freathy is wrong on where we'll finish. We won't be in the bottom two and I'm willing to put some serious money on that.

My issue is that there are some on here who seem to take pleasure in Argyle failing and actually that clouds what sometimes can be persuasive arguments.

I was there yesterday, I have no faith in Fletcher as a manager, Brent as an owner or indeed the current squad. If it all comes good, then I will be the first to admit I'm wrong and my cynicism was misjudged. I witnessed 45 mins of a half decent Argyle performance, that's not enough to make me think it's all going to be alright. I will not be going to any more of Brent's stage managed bullshit meetings, or even come to the next match. I will be taking a break from HP and next time I catch the train down, it will be to watch Albion not Argyle. Enjoy the ride as they say.

You are stereotyping the whole site on the opinion of about 4 or 5 posters, you and sensible are as valid in your opinions as Tring and Freathy, lots of us aren't happy with the way the club is run at the moment, doesn't mean that we are not argo fans or that we don't want the club to do well, we do. If you want constant positivity. then stay on pbay, if you want debate then stay here, the trouble is for real debate you need a differing viewpoint to your own.

So from reading this thread, I have learnt that one is obliged to attend matches to comment on them. That really is a new one on me. I have also learnt that one win apparently does make a season. Well I don't think the win yesterday proves anything much except maybe Griffiths looks like he could easily cut it for us and again that bhasera is a better attacking wide man than full back, and also a better wide man than our supposed wingers.

For me it also demonstrated that at home we need to be more attacking. I hope Fletcher takes note. Ee shouldn't be sitting back trying to pinch points off of dogshit teams. Get at them ffs.

I was worried that we would lose pluckily on Tuesday and be knackered yesterday but luckily Northampton had even less recovery time than us.

I reckon Torquay away then the next two home games will give a better indication of how the season may pan out.

Still not convinced by Fletcher but am happy we won and happy to give him the benefit of the doubt over yesterday's tactics.
