As the pasoti mods have locked his thread over there, and there is a thread laying into him on here I think it's only fair that there is a thread where anyone can defend his recent actions and share stories about how much good he had done.

He is absolutely argyle through and through and attends almost every game home and away, and raises bucketloads of money with the auctions.

I am no fan of Mr Newell, but some of the stuff on this site has been utterly obscene. I am deeply uncomfortable with the sheer glee with which he has been attacked, and the level of personal abuse.

The disgusting treatment of Amy Newell was particularly vile and unpleasent.

He has himself to blame for a lot of it, and after the Deep Throat fiasco I think alot of people regard him as a troll, but the intensity of attack from ATD is uncalled for and really does the site no credit at all.

It is worth remembering that while he has hoarded peoples personal data, it was not him who published it for the world to see. Someone has taken advantage if an oversite and put his entire personal account up online - I wonder if anyone will own up to that? If not there is a level of double standards going on.

Two things Womble, 1) you have not been on the receiving end for years of abuse from Newell and, 2) Believe that crap about Newell's daughter being abused if you want, the truth will come out and you will see that Tring was extremely polite.

But hey, if you haven't seen enough yet then fine, believe what you want to believe, nobody will force you to believe anything on here.

Pretty sure the glee from this site pales in significance to the glee Newell got by hacking my email account!

And im sorry i dont buy the bullshit he didnt put it there stuff because he did. So hacking peoples accounts is ok as long as your not dumb enough to upload a screenshot to your public photo hosting websitr.

Whoever did publish it has done a favour as i think those affected by it have every right to know what he has been doing with their information.

Not exactly. A lot of what he 'hoarded' as you put it, was not in the public domain and should not have been in the public domain. It was only made public when saved to his Flickr account. The only person guilty of making private stuff public is Mr Newell himself.

GOB, Tring 'extremely polite'???? Now I know you're bullshitting!!! lol!

Only joking Tringy, I'm sure you were the perfect gentleman.

So why did he take a screenshot of Andy's PERSONAL facebok status which was not in the public domain?

Why did he have screenshots of Rickler's home address and pictures?

Why did he ask "SG" to hit an email address?

Why did he post screenshots of the emails between him and an Argyle employee trying to sabotage the ATD Q&A?

None of that is done as a "mod".

I await your reply but remove the Ian Newell arse licking glasses if you would and see exactly why a number of people are rightly pissed off with the man.

Hi GOB

1) It was a comment on how thing looked to outsiders; the way the site has revelled in recent events is in danger of making IJN look like a victim. I dont know about past events, and nor do i care, just my take on how it looks to someone with an outsiders perspective.

2) She came on and defended her dad. Good for her. Your grudge should not bridge the generation gap, lifes too short. Please do not say thinks like "the truth will come out eventually"; if you want to play I know something you dont know games go and join pasoti mods Very Happy

It frankly strange that I can be argued with as if I am defending him when I have referred to him as a "troll" and "bringing a lot of it on himself" in my post! Hardly an impasioned defence of the man!

Anyone care to defend Newell's criminal behaviour demonstrated here?

Ian Newell appreciation thread Nr_hac12

Pasoti admin? Mr. Rapson? Any of his other cronies?

I agree with you to a large extent, the publication of the material is the mainly responsability of the man who put it there.

At no stage was I attempting to defend him, I am more concerned about this site not sinking to the depths of bitterness. I think it can be, and usually is, better than that.

I saw the email from Tring to Amy Newell and it certainly wasn't abusing. All I remember it saying was ask you dad a few questions instead of me.
