| I went shopping tonight. Sainsbury's has a triple DVD of Zulu, Alfie and The Italian Job for £5. Our shopping came to £56. When I checked out my vouchers I had a 400 extra Nectar points if I spent £5 on a DVD. Then I realised I had a £6 off if you spend £60 voucher. And a double Nectar points one too. So I bought the DVD (just to get Zulu if I am being honest but The Italian Job is great too), saved £1 and got loads of Nectar points too. I now have more than 3000.
Shame about Alfie though. |

| I am so with you there, boyfriend!
I too had the 'get loads of nectar points innit when you spend £5 on books, music, DVDs' voucher, so I thought I'd mosey on down and take a look. Naturally, I found a book I wanted. Coupled with the fact that the new edition of that magazine I like which costs £4 but does have loads of good stuff in was out, this added somewhat to the value of the goods in my trolley. Realising how close I was to spending £50, and thereby incurring another load of extra nectar points innit, I made sure to pick up a couple of extra staple non-perishables to be sure of it.
* Edit: I should have said that I also had a coupon for loads of extra nectar points innit if I spent over £50. Else the story doesn't quite make sense.
So now I've got - leaving aside regular top ups of milk, bananas and possibly small items of confectionery - enough food for at least two weeks. And the bastards gave me a coupon for loads of extra nectar points if I spend £60 (that's sixty pounds) any time in the next week.
That coupon's already gone in the recycling bin. See, Mr Sainsburys, I'm not falling for your obvious marketing ploys. Oh no.
PS I've got over £50 worth of nectar points at the moment. |

| I've never really been able to 'get in' to Sainsburys. They're a bit like no mans land really. If I want really good prices and good offers, it's Morrisons. At the moment, Tesco keep giving out £5 off when you spend £40 vouchers, so that's too good to turn down. Asda's - I really can't be doing with there. It's full of prime Jeremy Kyle candidates. If I want a quality food shop, without looking at prices, it's over the bridge to Waitrose.
So Sainsburys doesn't really fill any relevant criteria for me. And there's Marsh Mills roundabout to contend with.
(Supermarket discussion - how positively dripping in mundanity...) |

| I've got some non-supermarket, non-shopping, non-Post Office, non-milk or bananas news.
A week yesterday, I acquired two small bikes which, despite being small (although one's bigger than the other) are taking up a fair bit of space in the kitchen. (They are, however, providing a handy excuse for not cleaning, since they're blocking the door of the cupboard where the vacuum cleaner lives. And even that's not much of a blessing because, poor housekeeper that I am, even I'm getting a bit itchy about the state of the sitting room floor.)
Anyway. I thought two small people might be missing their bikes, so I raised it with them when I saw them on Thursday.
"We don't mind. We've got our new scooters."
Oh. |

| I did my shopping at Tesco Roborough this morning and it wasn't too busy. Took the dogs for a walk around Saltram this afternoon and Marsh Mills roundabout was manic (mainly due to JS traffic). I do shop at JS though and take advantage of the free parking in town (if I spend £10). |

| It's been a busy old day for myself and #1 son. Haircut for him first thing this morning, then a trip to Central Park, for an hour or so of running riot on the swings and slides (him, not me). Home for lunch then a drive to East Looe for our first rockpooling expedition of the year. Bleddy cold it was too, but #1 son soon perked up when I announced that we were getting Ice Cream from the kiosk on Hannafore shorefront.
He's now fast asleep, having worn himself out completely, which was my cunning plan all along. I've got a sensible measure of Gin and Tonic to hand, and all's right with the world. |

| Chemical (and anybody else who's interested): among my two talents, I'm a bit of an expert on places where you can park for free within easy walking distance of the main shopping areas of Plymouth. 'Easy walking distance' includes when laden down with two bags of heavy stuff and a couple of large canvasses. I might be prepared to share this information for a small consideration |

Only highlight was a trip to Hereford on Friday.
Is it too early for a beer? |

| I decided it would be nice to visit one of our local bars today, arrived at about 11.30am for coffee, then decided on a couple of bevvies ( 60 cents for a large wine). Well i must say it was very calm, pleasant and sunny; much more reverance than a normal sunday. On returning home, I have decided to do a bbq, luckily the sausage stock is good. |

| A day at Paignton Zoo with #1 son. He threw a small tantrum when I had to explain that we couldn't get a Salt Water Crocodile as a pet. I also had a Tapir urinate on my feet (impressive range those things have got, I was at least 3 feet from the enclosure fence when it let fly); given how rare Tapirs are, I'm not sure if this qualifies as Mundane. |

| Small bikes are still here.
One of them's now got a skipping rope handily adorning the handlebar. |

| Moved the two small bikes in order to get to the cupboard and get the Dyson out. Put them by the sink. Then had to move them again in order to get to the washing machine. Put them in the hall. Put the washing in the machine. Then had to move them again because the police knocked on the door. Put them back in the kitchen. Couldn't get back in the kitchen because the two small bikes were blocking the doorway. Put them back in the hall. Did the cleaning. Put the Dyson away. Took the washing out of the machine. Put the two small bikes back in front of the cupboard where the Dyson lives.
Is it bedtime yet? |

| Apparently, there's a police chopper in the sky above honicknowle tracking a burglar who is now on the run. I know this, because my daughter is getting live commentary from her twitter/facebook/etc friends who are unlucky enough to live locally. |

This was in fact slightly incorrect. It wasn't a burglar - it was two armed robbers. Story's made the front page headline in the Herald. |

| Thanks, Pete.
As of this afternoon, the two small bikes have departed. This was the result of a cunning plan whereby I took the two relevant small people to the park on the two small bikes and then took all four small items straight back to their house.
Quite enjoying the increased acreage in the kitchen. |

| Had our first delivery from Riverford Organic today, the missus is keen on us eating more healthily innit. So I shell out £26 for 6 carrots, 8 potatoes, 8 tiny tomatoes, a lettuce, a green leafy thing that was like a fat leek and some special broccoli called Greenjock's cock, because it was thin and had a purple end.
There was a small bit of meat as well, see above. A piece of belly pork that looked like 4 rashers of bacon stuck together, and a teaspoonful of mince. The thing is, it's only the same as you get anywhere else, but it's still got shit on it, which means more work innit.
Hey Peggy. |

| In some pain today, following yesterday's incident when a small person (bless her) managed to topple a fire door onto me (don't ask). Twenty six hours on, the headache's eased but continues to rage, while I'm finding new hurty bits by the minute. Not that I'm looking for sympathy, of course. Oh no.
In other news, the small bikes might have gone, but the skipping rope's still here. Amongst other things. |

| Back home from dragging the shed to Bude. First 'proper' shower in four days. Lovely!
Off out with Mrs Cerbs for a curry whilst Joe resides at his mate's place. |

| #1 Son is at Drakes Den with his mum and a couple members of his posse (I think a group of 4 year olds is known as a posse). I've got 'Carry On Up The Khyber' on the tellybox, a sensible measure of Gin and Tonic to hand, and I'm amusing myself by catching up on the latest episodes from the pasoti implosion. It's what Sundays are all about. |

I must say, in terms of comfort, it really is right up there. |
